Biden doesn’t give people nicknames to signal his in-group though, he allows other “politicians” to hold that bailiwick.
But that wasn't an argument I was refuting, the post I was replying to said that Biden didn't engage in name calling and verbal abuse.
To try to narrow it down to either "well, he hasn't done it as much" as another poster tried to do, or narrow it down to "he hasn't come up with catchy nicknames" is moving the goalposts.
Now, if the statement was merely "Biden isn't as abrasive as Trump", then on that I would agree 100%. But people need to be real about the fact that some of the same dirty tactics Trump employs, are employed by all politicians.
I think Democrats fall into the trap of thinking that "their guy" has to be completely innocent on the things they lambaste Trump for...when in fact, they lose more credibility by pretending their guy is 100% innocent, rather than just acknowledging that "hey, this bad thing... your guys is at a 10 and ours is at a 6 or 7"
One specific example I can point to is when Biden referred to any effort to promote voter ID rules (which is something that over half of Americans agree on, even democrats and minority groups that would disproportionately affected by it) as "Jim Crow 2.0".
To me, that's more harsh than "Crooked Hillary" or "Lyin Ted" (which are directed at a specific individual). Saying that "if you support voter ID, you're basically just the latest iteration of people who want there to be separate water fountains for Blacks and Whites" is far more cutting and offensive.
