If you put your faith in a physical object, then it is wrong. We should trust God. Lucky charms are superstitions. They may even be idolatry if you worship them. God dwells in you. Practice How to hear God instead of lucky charms.

Should a Christian own a lucky charm?

I don't. When I see others have them, I think they understand neither science nor God.

I still enjoy eating them, though, but only because they are magically delicious.

I know of believers who had to be delivered from demonic oppression because of this sort of thing. It sometimes runs in families. It included fear and idolatry. We do not need luck or believe in omens. We have faith in the goodness and will of God.

I do want to specify that I don't see wearing a cross as wearing a lucky charm. It is an outward symbol of an inward conviction and nothing more, for those who wear it. That said, the world is fast to misunderstand things. Hollywood has used the inverted cross time and time again to symbolize evil. Long before Hollywood, that symbol had a very different meaning.

By oral tradition that is difficult to prove in writings. it is believed that Peter refused to be crucified right side up, because he didn't want to dishonor Jesus, by dying as Jesus died. The original meaning of wearing an "upside down cross" was to outwardly profess that one was faithful to Christ even unto martyrdom.

I only wrote this to express personal convictions on the matter and to also add how people rapidly misunderstand things from a simple matter of perspective.

Darn, you beat me to it. ;) I liked them when staying at our family friend's cabin. Take my gold star.

This was 15 years ago by the way.

They are purely superstition - trust in magic or chance, or a false conception
