The United States Department of Justice has indicted a surgeon who blew the whistle on a Texas hospital secretly performing trans surgeries and gender medicalization of minors.

Dr. Eithan Haim, a surgeon at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, who leaked evidence of the body-mutilating procedures to journalist Christopher Rufo, was indicted earlier this week on four felony counts of allegedly violating the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

Haim is scheduled to appear in court on June 17, the National Review reported Thursday, with his legal team reportedly being unaware of the full nature of the charges.

Continued below.

The DOJ should be changed to the DOI: Department of Injustice (well, at least for this specific circumstance). In the last days, good will be called bad, and evil will be called good.

Prayers for Dr. Haim, and bless his soul for blowing the whistle on body mutilation.

The article is not clear on the detail of what was revealed. Good on him for revealing illegal practice but if he revealed individual patient data in doing so, he went too far. One can blow the whistle on practice without revealing protected health information of individual patients. Providers know that you can't share individual PHI without a release of information or a Court order. If he revealed identifying patient data, the prosecution is valid. I don't think any of us want our personal health information shared with a reporter who writes an article in the City Journal? Does anybody have the indictment?

I’ve had enough of this nonsense. It’s time to stand up for minors and their rights.

Amen, brother. Preach this to the world. Protect our children from this gender bending nonsense.

HIPA is a major pain. My wife was slightly irked at filling out a paper on who a doctor's office could notify about things like test results, and had to explain that it was to comply with the law, not something the doctor had come up with. That said, I remember a doctor who was a whistle blower on a Clinton nominee to surgeon general (nominee had been involved in the Tuskegee Experiment), who was arrested for writing a questionable prescription for pain medicine in a sting operation. Said arrest took place at his office, and he was paraded, in cuffs in front of patients in the waiting room. He was later acquitted, and my guess is the jury thought it was a set-up because he was a whistle blower.

The practice is not illegal, but in fact, legal. It's illegal for the doctor and hospital to refuse to provide transition therapies, which include hormone and surgical procedures. Biden signed it into law making it illegal for doctors to refuse.

You can't be standing up for their rights if you are denying them what they want.
Minors are impressionable. They don’t need surgery or hormones at that age. Besides, being trans isn’t a “right.”

How sad. Biden will have to answer to God one day.

I agree, they are impressionable but being straight isn't a right, either.

By order of Governor of Texas, such procedures are to be investigated as child abuse. Child abuse is illegal. Texas is not so hot about following Federal law. So, there is that.

Well, depends what you mean by right. Straight is considered “normal” so to speak. Everyone has a right to live as they please.

Then trans kids have the right to live as they please.
When they are adults, yes. No minor needs trans surgery or other gendered hormones pumping through their body. They might end up regretting the decision and they can’t change it.

I agree but doctors and psychiatrists under the subject more than we do.
