We do need a 500 dollar bill (a thousand too) since it might take one to buy a tank of gas. As to the penny it is a waste of money to even coin. I good law would make pennies owed at checkout go straight to Social Security.

Yeah, the gouging prices of gasoline reminds me of the tobacco industry. I'm not sure how high prices need to go before people realize there are better alternatives. I can roll my own tobacco for the entire month for the same cost as four days worth of pre-packaged cigs. The penny idea seems brilliant. But the fraud would be difficult to police.

Except this version of Jimmy is worse - at least Carter had morals.

Exactly. Carter has morals - he is not dead. Trump, on the other hand has been found liable for sexual assault, lies, corrupt business practices and is a convicted felon on July 11th. The only place his picture belongs comes with an inmate number. Gosar is tripping all over himself to get the attention of a criminal.

Probably better to have something like the actual $100,000 note

$100,000 note was actually a gold certificate that was never circulated or issued for public use. for conducting official transactions between Federal Reserve banks.

Oh yeah, that's an even better idea - Trump's face on a $130,000 gold certificate.

And then again - he might

Reminds me of the last time we had 500.00 bills. Very similar- high inflation, trouble in the Middle East, economy sucking people dry, high gas prices. It was when the other worst President was in office. Jimmy Carter.

Except this version of Jimmy is worse - at least Carter had morals.
They stopped issuing the $500 in 1969. Jimmy Carter was a private citizen running for governor of Georgia and the President was Nixon.

Also portraits on US coins and bills have always been done in memoriam. That's why the dime went from Mercury (really Liberty wearing a winged cap) to FDR in 1946 after he died. And the half dollar went from Benjamin Franklin to JFK in 1964 after he died. No living person's portrait has ever been put on US currency.
This proposal for putting the portrait of a living politician on a treasury bill seems very banana republicky, emphasis on the "icky".

From. https://www.bep.gov/currency/history/historical-currency

United States currency denominations above $100 are not available from the Department of the Treasury, the Federal Reserve System, or the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. On July 14, 1969, the Department of the Treasury and the Federal Reserve System announced that currency notes in denominations of $500, $1,000, $5,000, and $10,000 would be discontinued immediately due to lack of use. Although they were issued until 1969, they were last printed in 1945.

The remainder of the post is just as accurate IMHO.

$500 bills were still around in 2018, and are still legal tender.

"The United States no longer issues bills in larger denominations, such as $500, $1,000, $5,000, and $10,000 bills. But they are still legal tender and may still be in circulation."

The remainder of the post is just as accurate IMHO.
You say this without doing any research beyond where you found something which fits your bias, then post an ad hominem.

The rest of what I wrote is accurate. Trump is a sexual abuser, liar and a convicted felon on July 11.

Is that the new DNC campaign slogan?

There is a reason why Biden’s numbers are in the toilet.

It is called reality. Have you read the news lately? Have you seen the presumptive republican nominee for president is a convicted felon (officially on July 11)? I am wondering how anybody could vote for a felon to run the country?

The thread is abut Gosar and Trump. I understand the temptation to derail the thread because sometimes people just can't help themselves.

Trump will never have his face plastered on any currency, and he would think everybody has to pay him a portion of the currency because that is how he rolls. Gosar is just trying to get attention from Donald, otherwise the thought is ludicrous.

I guess if I had to choose a moral President with bad policies versus a immoral President with good policies, I might choose the latter. Sadly, there are few moral Presidents with good policies. Truman perhaps the closest in the last 100 years though some would disagree since he dropped the atom bombs.
