  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have bought Dutch Farms hardboiled eggs, they come in a sealed package and refrigerated lasts about 2 months, I then buy a 1 1/2 a cup of cut fruits. I am having this every day for breakfast.

Other than the added costs, what am I potentially missing out on or even end up risking by buying these already prepared foods, then doing it myself? I have never gotten sick from eating these, I hear the food standards and safety is high here in America.

It literally only takes a few minutes to boil some eggs yourself. Place eggs in pot, wait for water to boil, then, set timer for 5-6 minutes. Eggs come out hard boiled. :) For the 2nd part, you might be missing out on trying new recipes, and warm eggs.

I started buying dry milk though, cos I do not want milk to expire. Dry milk works well for a single man.

I currently use freeze dried food. It has a very long shelf life, up to 25 years. They are popular with survivalists. They are very quick and easy to use, just put a few teaspoons in with the food. Like Raman noodles or beans and rice. Again soup mixes in a box that has a long shelf life.

Freeze tried food delivers 95 percent of the nutrition. If you use a freezer you may drop down to 85%. I talked to the nurse practitioner at my doctors office. She said at least I am eating vegetables. Something is always better than nothing and it is a half hour of work to cut up fresh veggies and they spoil very fast. A lot of the green leaf veggies like spinach and kale only last about a week.
