This, of the beatitudes, is one of my favorites —the thirst for Christ is maybe my deepest set need. To see my God as he is, to be with him, to know him, to be what he created me for, to be with him and to love him without fault. To see his satisfaction and joy.

But the interplay between this, and his words to the woman at the well —whoever drinks of the water that he gives, will never thirst again!, and yet I feel the need for him all the more, the more I drink of the living water! I love this.

Certainly no other water can satisfy. "Whom have I in Heaven but you? And being with you, I desire nothing on earth."
