I don’t remember making any such claim.

Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. have different names.

Checker‘s and Rally’s have different names.

You are a very confusing person to talk to. Your posts are so short and seem to jump to weird places without warning. When you posted about renaming Cracker Barrel and suggested other regional names I couldn't figure out what "cracker" had to do with the south except as a mild racial slur. So I explored that question and then you posted as an example the Cleveland baseball team replacing their name because the old one was racially offensive. What was I to think? Your posts would be helped if you wrote a couple sentences to explain your thinking. We don't know what you are referencing in many cases.

People would complain they are going "woke".

Thats where we are in America.

Too true. If anybody changes anything to stay relevant, suddenly there's a mob of people hurling political invectives.

An aweful lot of sit down family style restaurants went belly up after the pandemic. It's one of those things that were very hard to keep going. Times have changed and people seem to be looking for a different dining experience. The challenge is to find out what that is.

A lot of younger people around are not longer eating the same way. Cracker Barrel food is very calorie heavy leaving the eater with a heavy stomach when they are done. They have a challenge on their hands. I hope they can figure it out. It's going to be a difficulty for the CEO.

“Our clientele didn’t fare so well in the pandemic”
Reminds me of the Family Guy German movie industry after WW2 joke.

"Alright, now that World War 2 is over we can finally go back to making comedies again. Get me these comedy writers."
"Uuh, I don't think any of these guys are going to be available."
"What!? This is terrible! Get me my agent!"
"Uuh... he's probably not going to answer either..."
"Well this is crazy! What happene- ooh, I remember what happened "

I will say, the ones around here still look pretty crowded if you look at them on the weekends around breakfast and lunch time.

In addition to the fact that a percentage of the elderly didn't resume certain dining out habits post covid (as the articles mention)

Any restaurant that the younger (working age) demographics would see as a "breakfast/lunch" place likely didn't do well with the fact that a lot of jobs converted to Work-from-home or Hybrid, and stayed that way after the pandemic. For instance, if a franchise opened up specifically near a business district to get foot traffic during the lunch hour, much of that probably went away with the transition to remote work.

Places like the Cracker Barrell & Bob Evans were more of a "lunch hour" place for some working-aged folks if it happened to be near where they worked, but not the kind of place those younger people would go for a "dining out for dinner" situation (that tends to be places that have a different kind of atmosphere and serve some adult drinks). When I was still going to the office pre-covid, we'd occasionally his those places up if people were in the mood to get some breakfast food for lunch. But I don't think I've stepped foot in either in the time I've been working remotely these past 4 years.

A lot of restaurants have closed down over time. They don’t all age well, meaning younger generations are not drawn to them. i have never eaten at a Cracker Barrel. Perhaps it is good food but it screams senior demographic and that doesn’t appeal to me.
Yeah. I’ve only been there once several years ago.

Seniors have enjoyed eating there since they were the younger demographic.
