Why? Maybe it’s just a phase or illness. Once it’s gone…it’s gone. What if they regret it?

It’s so new and nobody knows much about it.
So new? Gender reassignment surgery (not counting earlier more primitive forms) dates back to 1917. It was a fairly common procedure back in the 70s when I was a teen.

It hasn’t become rather popular and mainstream until recently.

I assume it was mostly private back then. As these surgeries should be.

I never heard about transgender people growing up in the early 2000s.

Maybe I wasn’t paying attention?

I don’t know.

The gender identity movement wasn't popular and mainstream until recently. The recent movement has extended trans to people who simply identify as the opposite sex without having gender reassignment surgery. The current distinctions between gender and sex are relatively recent, too. When I was young, gender reassignment surgery was called a sex change operation.

Yes, I would say that you weren't paying attention. But that's okay, it wasn't as noticeable back then. People didn't make much of an issue of it.

Thank you for your information.

Regardless, I still see sex and gender as the same. I personally don’t care what someone identifies as because I see it as either an illness or fetish. That’s just my take on it.

No. I have no African ancestry, therefore I’m not black. You are born with your ancestry. Just like you are either born a male or female and cannot change that.
I didn't say you were.changing anything. I said you could identify however you want. If you want to identify as a black or a woman or a dog. You can. The rest of us just don't have to go along with it. Some might even say they have solid reasons for not doing so. Like, you don't have any black ancestry or the genetics of a woman or of our four legged friends

I met my first transexual in about 1980. He had surgeries and everything.

ALMOST 75% OF TRANSGENDER PRISONERS BEHIND BARS FOR RAPE, BRUTAL CRIMES IN THE UK

Tremaine Tremayne Carroll mugshot

Tremaine "Tremayne" Deon Carroll, 51, was charged with rape in Madera County, California. A transgender person, Carroll was housed in a women's correctional facility by request and transferred to a men's facility following the indictment for rape. (California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations)

Court records show that Carroll's criminal historybegan in 1988, when he was 15. He was charged with grand theft of property and possession of a firearm by a minor. In 1990, he committed his first- and second-strike offenses under California's three-strike law in a crime that involved allegations of kidnapping, robbery and sexual assault.

Carroll was charged as an adult with three counts of kidnapping for ransom, two counts of robbery, and three counts of "oral copulation in concert by force," according to records. However, some of the counts were dismissed on technicalities and the case ended with a hung jury and mistrial. Rather than be retried, Carroll pleaded guilty to two counts of kidnapping and was sentenced to prison for 10 years and eight months.

Carroll's third strike came in 1998 when he was the getaway driver in a jewelry store robbery, leading to a 25-to-life sentence as a three-strike offender. While awaiting trial in 1999, sheriff's deputies, acting on a tip from a confidential informant, found him to be in possession of a metal wire shank. He was given an additional four years to be run consecutively with his 25-to-life term.

This needs to stop. It’s beyond ridiculous.

Okay. Your bluff was called.
You didn’t read the article correctly, you didn’t read my post above correctly, so it sounds more like the emerging pattern is yours, not mine.

I asked you to clarify because I have no idea what your point is. You’ve refused. I have to conclude that you’re bluffing.

And we’ve seen just how effective at reaching the correct conclusion thus far, so this wrong one can join the other wrong ones you’ve already made.

3rd-strike 'trans' rape suspect prompts rebellion against CA law after attack in women's prison

This makes no sense. I’ve been told over and over that if a man thinks he’s a woman, he’s a woman. So why put a woman in a men’s facility? Isn’t that endangering her?
Let’s face it, common sense has never been one of California’s strengths. Like their genius idea to raise fast food employee minimum wage, result, less hours and more layoffs. Who didn’t see that coming. The next step is even more layoffs replacing workers with robots.

Or, you could just explain what it is that you think I’m missing.
