In publishing the film and the book, we relied on representations made to us by Dinesh D’Souza and True the Vote, Inc. (“TTV”) that the individuals depicted in the videos provided to us by TTV, including Mr. Andrews, illegally deposited ballots. We have learned that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has cleared Mr. Andrews of illegal voting activity in connection with the event depicted in 2000 Mules.

Salem Media Group, the right-wing talk radio network owner, issued a public apology and said it would stop distributing a discredited 2020 election conspiracy theory film after a Georgia man wrongly accused of voter fraud sued the company for defamation.

The Georgia man, Mark Andrews, said in his 2022 lawsuit that “2000 Mules,” a film and book by far-right activist Dinesh D’Souza contained a string of bogus claims about the 2020 election, leading to threats of violence against him and his family.

The apology from Salem came as part of a larger settlement to the lawsuit filed by Andrews.

The "stolen election" thing was such a cascade of lies.

I really hope people who bought into it re-examine how they acquire information about our world. But its a slim hope.

(Oh this is where I get to "brag" about defeating D'Souza in public argument, like I do every time hes mentioned.... an accomplishment that declines in value with every new revelation about the little creep.)

We never really know who is and is not telling the truth for sure. We do know .... government has no problem propagating falsehoods ... same with individuals. Hard to say with a lot of things these days.

Have no idea ...but corruption is a possibility and can't be ruled out ... at any time corruption can take place whether there is a known history or not.

I just think everything should be looked at with a healthy dose of skepticism. Many things we do not know and will not know ... lots of deception going on in the world no doubt about that.

This is the problem with all of Trump's lies and slander, it causes people to do harm to one another.

When the election winner had not yet been declared, and Trump saw he was losing, Trump stated definitively without any proof, that the Democrats had fraudulently stolen the election and had robbed the people of America. When Trump or anyone else says the election was stolen and they have no proof, it's a lie, and it is slanderous.

No, but we can gather from the settlement that Salem Media expected it would lose in court, and lose bigger than whatever they paid Mr. Andrews.

Presumably, the lawsuit against D'Souza and TTV will continue, so we may have a final decision. But since you seem to have doubts about knowing the truth, that won't help you any.

There's a difference between my claiming without any evidence that I definitively know it was stolen, and claiming it is my opinion that it was stolen and showing reasons for why I believe that. To be clear, to state one's honest opinion is not lying nor slanderous.

I do so to try and determine where we are in the stream of time according to prophecy .... All indictions are things are escalating and His return is near. Looking forward to that day.

Yes, every citizen doesn't get to confirm how everyone voted, which is why we have elected officials we entrust with that responsibility. That trust is a necessary component. But as an observable fact, it's still a lie to definitively claim without any proof the election was stolen.

Okay, I get where you're coming from, and I agree. The thing is for me, I feel that the Holy Spirit has given me a gift to see how every lie in the moral/immoral paradigm will seek to undermine love God with all your heart, mind, and soul, and your neighbor as yourself. I therefore feel I have an obligation to expose a lie when I see it, otherwise I feel like I won't be loving others as myself if I don't.

if I say it's definitely going to rain today (proof - because there are clouds in the air) .. and it doesn't rain .... is that a lie?

I don't really care who claims what .... I do believe there is most certainly ways of skewing/manipulating election results and everything possible to eliminate the possibility of elections being manipulated should be in place ... and I and many others don't trust that they are.

Clinton and the democratic party claimed Trumps first term that he was a "illegitimate president" ... the main difference is they didn't pursue anything to justify/prove that claim.

Past elections are water under the bridge.

Who knows what is true and what is not true? We live with whatever shakes out.

Salem Media made a quarter of a billion dollars last year. If the claims asserted by 2000 Mules were supported by facts, they could easily afford to fight and win.

But we know that True the Vote has no evidence. They were subpoenaed and had to confess they had nothing.

Salem Media has belatedly realized the product they promoted was unsubstantiated and defamatory. As a distributor of the product, they've found it easy to cut ties. The suit against convicted felon Dinesh D'Souza and True the Vote remains in place. They won't be able to so easily disassociate from the product they themselves produced.

Maybe Dinesh should sue Mr. Andrews for ruining his business and killing his revenue stream. Will Mr. Andrews have to cover his butt and drop his own lawsuit? I don't think so.
