David says in Psalm 139 " 7Where can I go to escape Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? 8If I ascend to the heavens, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, You are there.…" Yet people say the definition of hell is separation from God.

God was not a part of my life for 26 years and I would not ever want to go back to that again. With God we have the answer for every question and the solution for every problem and we can even give it to Him to deal with for us. In fact we are encouraged to trust it to the Lord.

I thought gravity pushed things together into systems. That interact with each other. Like the sun and planets in a solar system. Or the way stars and planets are formed.
Not so much pushed as pulled. Einstein' model is essentially that gravity is a distortion of space and time caused by mass, with the larger the mass the greater the distortion. That lends itself to the weights on a rubber sheet analogy.

Yet by all appearances the universe is expanding. Expansion is not due to gravity as we understand it, and there's various theories of why this is happening. We only can observe it and say "Hey, it looks like the universe is expanding."

Something to think about is that the farther we see, the further back we look into time, and that seems to imply that expansion was faster earlier on than it is now. But my info is likely dated.

The idea of an expanding universe is occurring at the galactic level. All the galaxies and intergalactic objects are moving away from each other while the individual star systems move by the effects of the space around them. The explanation is that at this moment in time, the outward force of inertia is greater than the gravitation force that seeks to pull things together. It's kind of like the upward momentum of a ball hit by a bat. You are correct. Science says that eventually, that momentum will either be reduced to where gravity will begin to pull everything back together, or all objects will achieve a universal "escape velocity," and all things will continue to fly away from the center. Of course, this is the surmising of science. They do not account for God or the truth of the Word.
It seems significant to me that John saw a new heaven and a new earth. A new universe? Don't know. Will just have to see.

A name for Bible Numerology is gematria.
If you're familiar with the Kabbalah, it gets pretty weird. There's an um "interesting" reason why they thought odd numbers were favorable and even numbers were not.

If you think if raisins in a baking loaf of raisin bread, there's an easy explanation for this. As the loaf expands, the velocity of expansion, measured between two adjacent raisins, is much slower than if you measure between two distant raisins.

Which is why you are not suppose to study Kabbalah until you have been a Christian for 40 years. There is a lot of weird stuff in there. They do teach some of it to pre teen girls so they save themselves for marriage and their husband and do not sleep around. The Hasidic are pretty strict and was you say weird. I think the women wear wigs or something strange like that. There are a few rabbi that I like to read and study. Gentiles that study their teaching have some sort of special status with them. But I am not quite sure what it is. My boss was "Jewish" and they use to pretty much treat me like family. Even the mother was conservative and ate kosher.

The center of the expansion of space is not in three-dimensional space.
I find this far more awesome than a literal reading of Geneses 1 & 2. We are talking 13.8 Billion years in our time. And a bursting into 3d bring both time and space as well as matter and light.

Peace to all,

To me, The center of the universe is the Holy Spirit will of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit and is the shared Holy Spirit in the soul of the being in the Body of Christ in all mankind united with the Father and the Son as one in being glorified and transfigured into the image of the Creator, the Father, God.

Peace always,
Stephen
So do you think the universe revolves around us?

Peace to all,

Thanks for the topic, and just critically thinking here, and as always, I am open to any updates that can improve, thanks in advance,

To me the center of the universe becomes sanctified eternity through The Christ. To me the Body of God is the center of sanctified eternity, all through the Power of the Holy Spirit that unites all mankind as One in Being in union with the Father and the Son glorified and Transfigured into the Newly Fulfilled and Sanctified Center of The Universe, and in the image of God.

Peace always,
disciple Stephen Andrew
