Former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley says she plans to vote for former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election months after she exited the race without endorsing him and as she continues to receive votes in Republican presidential primaries.

In remarks at the Washington-based conservative think tank Hudson Institute Wednesday, Haley responded to a question asking, "Who do you think would do a better job in the White House, Joe Biden or Donald Trump?"

"As a voter, I put my priorities on a president who's going to have the backs of our allies and hold our enemies to account, who would secure the border, no more excuses," she said.

Like every other Republican, she is astute enough to recognize Mr. Trump's incompetence, dictatorial aspirations, and likely criminal acts...

And self-interested enough to use her vote and endorsement to sell out the American people.

I can count the Republican politicians with integrity on the fingers of one hand. May their numbers increase

Those are many of the very same descriptions that I have for Democratic popoliticians. I have had that opinion of the vast majority of Democratic politicians for over 35 years.

The difference being that none of them have been found liable for $450 million in tax fraud, $83 million for sexual assault, $25 million for bilking students with a fraudulent university; impeached twice; facing ninety one indictments in four jurisdictions.

Your opinion, lacking facts to back it up, lacks credibility.

Don't you think that reflects very poorly on the Democrats, using legal means to out law the opposition - pretty much like Hitler did?

Enforcing the law against criminals--and insurrectionists--reflects well on our leaders.

Does "the party of law and order" want to selectively enforce the law? Really? Is that not hypocritical?

Let me guess the Republicans you respect, Neocon warmongers like Lindsay Graham and Mitt Romney?

Odd.. So far I haven't seen an argument that refutes the claim that Biden has been a catastrophe. There's an argument critical of Haley and the obligatory "What about Trump?" argument, but none that what Haley said is wrong.

Infrastructure law. Got us through global inflation crisis with no recession and low unemployment. Highest stock market in history. Veterans PACT act. Student loan relief. Lower drug prices. Strengthened NATO alliance. Regained respect of world.

For starters.

"Haley painted her preferred candidate as "a president who would support capitalism and freedom" and "a president who understands we need less debt, not more debt." While acknowledging that "Trump has not been perfect on these policies," she asserted that "Biden has been a catastrophe."

An assertion with no evidence = rhetoric. She sells out knowing Trump is the true catastrophe. he now says he will pardon all those convicted for January 6th. Proof that he has no regret about that shameful day. More Republicans need to wake up and act with integrity.

I agree. Who reduced the deficit? Biden.
If, heaven forbid, Trump won, he would be a one term president/potential dictator. At 78, his cognitive abilities seem way poorer than Biden's (in my opinion) and by 2028, even his most ardent fans would realize he couldn't cope.
And do Nikki Haley wants to keep her options open, and to so that she has to betray her principles--as most other Republicans have done.
