  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This ER doctor urges you to stop making this horrible mistake on the highway...

Cutting people off is a horrible mistake. I do not drive, but have noticed that a lot of people cut each other off.

But yes, getting out of the car on the highway is a bad idea.
I don’t drive either.

I have severe anxiety and panic attacks. No fun.
Yeah, that sounds bad. But remember, Jesus will save us from this. If not in this life, then, in the life to come up in Heaven. However, let us not hasten our life, as stated in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.

Where I come from, this is legendary.

It's 5 minutes of twisted steel, speed and stupidity on I-40 in Wisconsin.

Note the vast number of people wandering around the freeway like it's a zombie Apocalypse. Even the people who jumped the barricade got involved with oncoming traffic in the opposite direction.

Stay in your car, or, if you can, run like a bandit into the ditch and across to the other side. In the ditch is not really safe.

We've come a long way in safety engineering in the last 25 years. Strap in, give the vehicle half a chance and it will protect you.

I promise.

Actually I would beg to differ some. I'd say if your car is stalled out on the side of the freeway to get out and walk away from the freeway if that's possible. Going out the passenger side if possible. If you can get your car off the freeway onto landscaping, that's even better.
Also it's best to have AAA or towing on your insurance, or bite the bullet and pay out of pocket, for a tow truck to assist you. Or even call for a highway patrol car to get behind you with lights flashing, to protect against getting sideswiped.
