As has Colbert. And Jon Stewart's first night back was nothing more than him highlighting Biden's weaknesses. He took some heavy hits from some left wing commentators about it. Which only shows that they they don't get it. If there are genuine concerns about anybody running for office then the problems need to be discussed. Air them in public. Discuss them. Shine a light on them. It's difficult to make reasonable political arguments if you have your butt in the air and your head in the sand.

Was Trump made fun of? Is he being made fun of? You bet. Because his faults are legion. But for the jibes and the digs at him to carry any weight then whoever is jibing and digging must be prepared to share that load when it's applicable.

Colbert is a comedian. And he is funny (did stand up and improv for many years). He also commentates on political matters in what might be considered an amusing way. And interviews people with films to promote. I watch him for the comedy.

Stewart is a savvy political commentator who uses humour to drive home his points. They give them an edge. I listen to most of what he does. Exceptionally talented guy.

We don't get it down here. Unless it's buried deep in some entertainment channel I might have and on in the early hours. I've seen quite a few episodes on Youtube. But not a big fan.

I do realise that Myers was a regular - forgot to mention him as a late night show host. He's smart. Good interviewer. Used to watch him occasionally. But the comedy...dire most of the time. He needs better writers. Always seems forced. The audience must be juiced up before it starts. They laugh at anything.
