Classes in some states may soon watch a fetal development video from a Pro-Life group

What are y'alls thoughts and opinions about this?

Wow. Did schools stop showing videos about fetal development at some point? 'Cuz they had those in 8th grade Sex-Ed science when I was a kid, and that was back in the 1980s. And what's more, it didn't have to be presented by a pro-life group in order to be shown.

Of course, on the other hand, it'd be kind of odd to have a fetal development video presented by an abortion advocacy group. I guess their video would be shorter ..............................

Shortly after our state banned abortion, the governor terminated Medicaid for new mothers after 60 days--even though the federal government would cover one year.

So yeah, show the film--alongside a film showing the results of conservative limited government's policies on new mothers and children who grow up hungry, poor, homeless, etc. If they're so pro-life they need to be educated about what that means.

Very short, since there is no such thing as an "abortion advocacy" group.

No one advocates FOR abortions. Sure, some advocate for reproductive rights (the right to choose, which includes not having an abortion), and some advocate for the availability of abortions, especially when medically necessary. But no one, not a single person or group, specifically advocates any woman to have an abortion.

That's a private medical decision, and is only appropriately discussed between a pregnant woman and her medical professionals....

-- A2SG, and it should stay that way....

I don't think I said anything about taking away the rights of women and their choices, did I? ... no, I don't think I did.

But I get what you're saying: you want to see me make a much finer analytic distinction in my choice of terms so that my language reflects the reality to which it refers (i.e. the referent).

Well, I understand. We all want that ...

This is all part of the Christian Agenda. If tou forcr young women to bear children and remove state resources for them they have little choice but to turn to a church for charity.

Boom. Instant dependence and a new Soldier for Christ. This is all as intended.

This is just a way to groom children for hebephiles, probably I expect, no doubt.
Your opinion couldn't be further from the truth if you tried.

Yep. Indoctrination. As they said, get to them while they are young.

While your opinion has not yet been stated. Why is that? You keep posting threads without directing the discussion, then pick apart other's opinions while never posting yours.

If churches had taken care of the needy and young mothers in the past, the government never would have had to step up.
They failed miserably, woefully.
The nominally Christian anti-tax crowd didn't spend their Trump tax cuts donating to churches.

Good. Just so you realize you were referring to a nonexistent, made up group to complain about.

-- A2SG, seems to me there's a term for that kind of argument...something about straw...

Yes, I do indeed. That's why there was an 'odd' loaded into my locution.

No. You're implying a strawman about the strawman.

The trick here is to assert that all Pro-Choice advocates share identical motives and identical definitions by which to express their views on "rights."

But the reality is, they really don't. It's all over the place, just like it is on the other side of the philosophical tracks.

It'd be very odd, considering there are no groups such as the one you referred to.

No. You're implying a strawman about the strawman.
Nope, no strawmen on my part.

-- A2SG, I didn't make up any nonexistent groups either....

You missed the main inference I was getting at in my first post.
