CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

On another thread, essentialsaltes said that he thinks it has to do with hypersonic missiles which I tend to agree with. I believe Russia just launched its first on Ukraine.

It seems Americans' trust in our institutions began eroding around this time too. Lying to constituents has this effect. After Powell lied to the UN to justify invading Iraq it seems like the rest of the world began to question the USA's institutions also.
It appears this Turner guy is also motivated by politics and is possibly unqualified to lead a congressional intelligence committee. Selective fear mongering is not admirable in my view. Especially when an appropriate venue was scheduled to discuss this issue using discretion before releasing the information to the public. It appears Brit Hume is correct in saying republicans in congress risk being seen as a "do-nothing congress." Some might argue this congress is actually exacerbating our government dysfunction and distrust in America. And adding to our myriad problems instead of mitigating them.
