Suozzi wins Santos' former district--one Republican down, 2 or 3 to go...

Yippee. I am so excited.

The Queens/suburban district is seen as a bellwether for other swing districts that turned red in 2022.

Because I lived in NY-3 for 16 years, i had been so disheartened to see Santos representing them.

And hopefully a sign that Mike Johnson will go back into Congressional obscurity soon.

How dare they not vote back in Revolutionary War hero and first man to walk on the moon, Santos?

Mazi was a terrible candidate to run , especially after Santos. She couldn't answer questions and read scripts; she flipped flopped on views and seemed to lie about her background. She came off as cut from the same cloth as her "good friend" Santos. It was almost comical; like a clown show. Maybe this is all the GOP could muster up? It was a weird choice but at least people came out to reject her in the end. I predict the same for November.

It's quite possible. From your description, she sounds better qualified than 80% of the Republican candidates here in Baltimore.

Santos and Trump are like two peas in a pod -- at least as far as their reaction to the results goes.

Santos tweeted: Hey @NassauNYGOP money does not buy votes, it’s respecting the wishes of the base that wins votes. #NY3 is #MAGA country and since MAGA was disrespected, MAGA stayed home!”

His sentiments were echoed by Donald Trump [on Truth Social]

“MAGA, WHICH IS MOST OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, STAYED HOME - AND IT ALWAYS WILL, UNLESS IT IS TREATED WITH THE RESPECT THAT IT DESERVES,” he continued. The former president went on to say “I WANT TO BE LOVED” and demanded that the GOP put forward a “REAL” candidate to run against Suozzi in November.
