Sounds just like that retribution Trump was telling us he would do.

We are dealing with children here.
Frustratingly, the CNN anchor in that clip isn't much better. The insurrection claim is obviously stupid and dishonest, but he could've done a better job dismantling the claims if he hadn't been so smarmy and quick to react.

How would that even be possible? He's the head of state and there's been no election - who would he be insurrecting against?
That just shows how devious and cunning the doddering old senility lifestyle choice adopter is.

He’s the most brilliant dunce in the land.

And Crime Lord. He’s like Jabba the Hutt in that respect.

Huh. I'd've thought that "Doe 174" was more Jabba-like.

The insurrection claim against Trump is stupid because no prosecutor has actually charged Trump with insurrection.
that and when the 14th amendment was enacted primaries were not a thing, so the amendment could not have been meant to address something that did not exist until decades later.

The 14th amendment never mentions primaries, but if a person is ineligible to run for a particular office then they can't even be on a primary. Your point is moot.

So on behalf of a party the state could show a 22 year old on the presidential primary ballot? Perhaps. But it seems silly.

Why does there need to be an election for there to be an insurrection/rebellion against the government and the Constitution?

For normal run-of-the-mill insurrectionists, there doesn't need to be an election. But a head of state who already runs the government can't really rebel against himself, so what would he be rebelling against? Congress? I suppose you could maybe describe it as an insurrection for a president to oust the legislature and install himself as a dictator.

Claiming that Biden is plotting insurrection strikes me as being akin to claiming that somebody is plotting to break into their own house. While it may be technically possible, the range of scenarios in which it's even a sensible claim is much much smaller than it would be for anybody else.
