We are also called to be a wise as serpents and innocent as doves. Childlike faith does not necessarily mean believing everything that comes down the pike.

I'm curious what all that means.
As an example?

I know back in the 90's I had a VHS of 'miracles' and many were Catholic.
A few were considered miracles of Hindu?
And yet the difference between them was that the Catholic miracles healed people... the other just caused stumbling.

Is that what you mean?

I really try not to depend on miracles. A Virgin Mary statue was just claimed to weep. It was a hoax. I do absolutely believe in miracles and our childlike faith is in the God of Christianity. But we are also called to get past the milk and start eating meat. We are called to discernment as well. I don’t think childlike Faith often means what people of today think it means. I sort of follow the Church when it comes to discerning these things. We must be careful.

This is why approval is necessary.
I wait for the investigations.

IMHO child like is not worrying because nobody can snatch from the Fathers hands.

The Lord will always show truth if truth is necessary.
But child like IMHO is knowing that you're safe in His hands.

To me it's like a child believing in Santa Clause. My grandchild made my son bake cookies for Santa Clause to eat after he left presents. Naturally this santa ate them. Sometimes you hear kids talking and playing with imaginary friends (could they be angels?) Then the parents think something is wrong with the child.
My granddaughter has self-esteem issues, so I looked into it. Psychologists say that kids from womb to 7 operate in a Theta brainwave state a form of hypnosis. Thats why babies can pick up languages easily from bilingual parents easily. After 7, they start using their conscious mind and learn things through repetition, ABC or driving a car. This is why early childhood abuse affect people for the rest of their life, it's a deep habit.
There are several videos about paradigm Proctor Gallagher and Dr John Demartini (both sell stuff) I learned that adults can change thier lives through meditation. Buddhist thru meditation can regulate internal body functions. I use mediation (for anger) and also prayer at the same time.
Added: Now I understand childlike faith. The operate in a different state of mind.

Abuse is the worst.
Yes, abuse is terrible.

I used to think that my kid's personalities were genetic, in ways that one acts and does things like me and one like mommy and the other has both but really, it's learned behavior. They pick up nuances in their impressionable years from both parents.

I was 50 years old and an alcoholic. I begged God to deliver me and He did, Praise God! During that time something happened to me, some Christians called it baptized in the holy spirit. I started read the bible I got to the NT and to the part about healing and I flat out told God I don't believe this stuff. I begged every night for two weeks telling God I want to believe the bible so show me. for 50 years of life, I never seen anything like that and for 25 years prior to that none of the churches talked about it.

Thirteen years ago December I got a call from my Catholic brother-in-law and his shoulder was healed by a priest. Like in the old Beeny Hinn TV shows. I the praised God for his answer to my prayer.

September 2023, I had a heart attack and after getting out of the hospital I tried to walk and walked a half a block and had extreme shortness of breath, that day I got on my knees and asked God, crying, begging, commanding my heart be healed. The next day I walked a 1.5 miles Praise God! There isn't Christian alive that will persuade me that God doesn't perform miracles today.

The trillion-dollar question is why not more. Peace

I'm a big guy. Ex-biker (wife took my keys away 4 years ago after an accident, let's not talk about it). Went gray at 30, white by 45, full beard, shoulder-length hair. I live in the Northland.

I get a look. From kids of a certain age maybe between 4 and 8. Especially after it gets cold and I'm wearing my red and black coat.

I recognize it, it's a thousand yard star where you can actually see the gears turning: Can it REALLY be him? Why would he be here, now, just standing around talking to people?

It's a look of wonder, of seeing something they can't quite explain, maybe even don't really believe but here I am, right in front of them. What are they supposed to think at this point ? They don't know.

That's child like faith. I've been fortunate enough to see it often enough to recognize it.

I also carry around candy canes for just such occasions. THAT blows them right straight away.
