Move to Afghanistan and you shall receive your share of the 85 billion.

Personally, the Gateway Pundit has a good reputation for posting inaccurate news.

Got a list?
Got a fact check.

Several Republican members of Congress and former President Donald Trump have cited a grossly exaggerated figure of $85 billion worth of equipment they say has now fallen into the hands of the Taliban. But that figure — actually $82.9 billion — is the total amount spent on the Afghanistan Security Forces Fund since the war began in 2001.

Once again the claim that we left $85 billion worth of equipment in Afghanistan. 1) That $85 billion was the TOTAL amount we spent on the war over the cost of 10 years. Most of it was salaries and training. 2) What every equipment still in US custody at the time of the evacuation was destroyed or taken with us.

The TOTAL cost of the equipment, not the war. The cost of the war was higher.

So let's break this down.
- As has been noted the $85 billion was for training and equipment spent during 20 years.
- The arms, ammo and equipment were the property of ANSF. We expected them to fight and they might have if Donald and Pompeo hadn't sold them out, bypassed the government and started negotiating directly with the Taliban.
- The Taliban were literally complaining that equipment left behind was disabled.
As the article notes regarding other assets:
>> The general added that the equipment had been disabled and in the end none of it was mission capable. <<

All together, this "article" from Gateway Pundit is nothing but propaganda.

This is rhetorical but what is up with the media illiteracy? I've noticed OPs that site

Gateway Pundit, ZeroHedge, Conservative Treehouse, Just The News, Daily Caller, Epoch Times, Washington Times, New York Post, The Blaze, LifeSiteNews...

Low credibility, low to mixed factual reporting or straight up conspiracy propaganda trash.

And we're supposed to seriously entertain these OPs? All they're doing is telling on themselves in a big way. Not that I want to generalize because there are still people who use more credible sources and are actually worth engaging with.

Happy to see so many have tested that checker, wait a minute. Did I miss something? Has the era of Dem/Rino-alliance of fact & trust-removal been restored? How about your FactCheck.org, are they any good? Uh-oh, first spotted, “Military experts” and that without citation. Who else? Well, there we go,

CSIS (Center for Strategic and International Studies)! Your checker would have to go there. Of course, the original ‘verification’ perps of the 2016 U.S. presidential “Russian election meddling” hoax.

Save yourself some time, these two alone are suitable flags to dismiss related findings. Not saying all checkers fit this quality, but, check your own quality, this is an era of lust for money and power. After nearly 20yrs of scouring info, fact-checkers and checker-checking flaws are oft’, low-hanging fruit. And seldom amusing.

Instead of an attempt at a counter-point to the fact-check using some sort of evidence or other credible source, talk of conspiracy and opinion is provided. Do you have anything better to offer?

Here it is again....that 85 billion figure, as mentioned by CNN

"The U.S. provided an estimated $83 billion worth of training and equipment to Afghan security forces since 2001."

Sure, the 85 billion figure in the OP is an actual cost used in referring to the war in Afghanistan, but that is not how much the cost of equipment left behind cost. As I said INACCURATE NEWS posted by poor old Jim Hoft.

Those same folks deride "THE media" as being biased.
