How long do you believe cars can go without a new oil change?

I've always use fully synthetic and go either 10K mile or 1 year which ever comes first. No problems.

BTW since you posted this in the Christian area, does anyone remember this little song.
Give me oil for my Ford.
Keep it running for me Lord
Give me oil for my Ford, I pray.
Give me oil for my Ford, keep it running for me Lord.
Keep it running till the break of day.

I think I'm remembering it right. :)

According to sources, newer cars can go 10,000 miles between oil changes using synthetic oil. Would you agree or think thats too high? Some people change it at 5,000 miles or even 3,000 miles.
Conventional oil (or high mileage -synthetic blend)I go around 4-4,500Miles. I have always used synthetic oil in my wife's car and let it go for 6,000. It has a 3000 mile timer, and I just reset it the 1st time.

I couldn't copy a link, but search for "Scotty Kilmer oil change". he covers a lot of what you're asking

I think synthetics are better for cars and are more stable. You of course want an oil which does not break down physically, plus its quality of benefit to the engine is stable.

How often oil should be changed depends on the quality of the oil and depends on the condition of the car.

I am not sure if synthetics are good for only certain cars. You could make sure about this.

I would go 6,000 -8,000 on the best synthetic oil. As much as cars cost it is a no brainer to use that type of oil. The filter though has to be premium too. Royal Purple seems to be number one followed by mobile one, Best Oil Filter for 2022

Based on all of the responses so far, the average seems to hover around 5000-7500 miles (8000 km - 12000 km). I'd say go with the in between, say every 6000 miles (9700 km) if you want the most life out of your car. If you are careful in driving, you might be able to squeeze in an extra two thousand miles before oil changes. I asked an AI, and it said 5000-7500 miles for most cars, but read the manual first.

I've been driving a 2010 Chrysler Town & Country for 7 years. It had 60K on it when I bought it, it has 144K on it now. I use synthetic and change the oil in January and June...around 5K miles.
We just bought the same make, model, and year vehicle, around 1.5 months ago . Ours has 133k miles, and I changed the oil last week
