GDP grew at an excellent rate and the economy rebounded strongly out of President Carter's economy.
Makes perfect sense to me.

Amen.. he has made that very clear. Now looking back when he was president now looking where we are are since Biden took office.. well I am thinking under Trump it was so much better.. under Trump here man there were "HELP WANTED" everywhere.. today? No where. Under Trump we got thousands back.. under Biden no lie maybe $100. Granted that is NOT what Biden said would happen.
So it toss out the things the left go crazy over since .. its done just to get them going. Its the actions.. and things they the left said he had done wrong Biden alone has done just a much wrong. But today Justice is not blind any more

Ronald Reagan had little to do with it. The Fed, led by Chairman Paul Volcker (appointed by Jimmy Carter,) deserves the lion’s share of the credit. Largely by imposing extremely tight monetary policies. Interest rates became astronomical. The mortgage rate on the condo I bought in 1981 was 15%. Yes, the overall economy improved, interest rates declined, I renegotiated my mortgage at a much lower rate, and Paul Volcker was reappointed by Pres.Reagan to another term as Fed Chairman.

Reagan had a self-deprecating style of humor that broadly appealed to people.

Yeah.. allot happened in 2020 that does not get talked about by one side. All I ever want to say is JUSTICE is blind and the moment we only use it for one side.. America will fall. Its you and me .. maybe even getting very upset yet right and the end.. "hay man thanks! I will give it much thought. Bless you man". So when I am told NOT to look at the faults someone else did that are just as great.. somethings wrong

Why didn't Paul Volcker do anything about the crashing economy during the Carter years if he deserves the lion's share for the great economic growth during the 80s?

Everyone who feels 'beat up on' fantasizes about a 'bully' who will defend them against the forces they believe (correctly or incorrectly) are the cause of their misery.
Trump has positioned himself as the bully who will protect them against the bad guys---not mentioning that the party he leads supports about 90% of the policies that cause them misery.
My friends (predominantly Democrats) have a more sinister read. They believe that the election of Obama, a black (actually biracial) man, has been used by the Republican Party to recruit more members. The state I live in went from being about 50% Democratic to being one of the reddest states in the country.
So of course they are fond of someone who promotes the fake idea that Obama was born in Kenya. Who will build a wall against the "immigrant rapists and murderers" who are stealing their jobs.
Is the Republican Party the party of racism and xenophobia? I won't attempt to answer that, but they are succeeding in attracting a whole lot of racists and xenophobes, perhaps coincidentally, perhaps not.
