The Things we Like About the Opposite Gender

With all the hostilities lately, I thought we should have a thread to celebrate each other, and focus on the positives.

Rules:
No debating, no negativity, just positive vibes all around.

Ok, so generalizations for sure. But things that are typically masculine to that I’m drawn to in men:
- I love “man smell.” Not like stinky man smell, but a clean guy that uses a nice smelling guy soap.
- I love when a guy likes to be the driver. I’ll be nav all day long to a good, safe driver.
- I like how men usually have rough, dry hands
- I love when men are both assertive and strong as well as emotionally intelligent and vulnerable
- I like when they wield their power well. Use it for good but don’t assert it over others.
- I like when men are secure and can have different opinions from others without feeling the need to be argumentative and push that on others.
- I love when men do little touches to express affection and closeness. Like touching my back, holding my hand, giving a hug, or a reassuring little rub on my leg.
- definitely attracted to the way men look… but the specific things I’m drawn to obviously vary person to person in that department.

I love the way men puff up with pride if they do something for you, and you show genuine, heartfelt gratitude.

At this point in my life, my two closest friends are women. We have great conversations. They're super intelligent and funny.

I like when they share their hopes and dreams and encourage me to do the same.
I like when they're vulnerable and not afraid to share their thoughts and feelings.
I like when they see themselves as a work in progress and don't sweat the small stuff.
I like when they can laugh at their mistakes and learn from them too.
I like when they share what they know generously without being asked.
I like when we do things together because four hands are better than a pair.
I like when they're comfortable in their own skin and not afraid to go against the grain.
I like when they find their identity in God and not the world or their friends.
I like a man who can say no and stand on his convictions. Even if he stands alone.
I like a man who loves to read and talk about it. I learn a lot that way.
I like a man who's adventurous. It helps me get outside my comfort zone and try something new.
I like a well-fitting suit and a clean shaven face. It gives me butterflies.
I like a man who loves butter and heavy cream. If I have to explain why I'll pray for you.

I love it when a man isn't afraid to chase, corner, and kill scary bugs. Or catch them and put them outside, if he's so inclined. Small acts of heroism make me all melty inside.

That feels so contrary to the norm now!

I hate having facial hair and it really irritates me, but beards and facial hair are definitely ‘in’ at the moment.

It’s one of my favourite things, though. A proper shave with soap, a brush and cut throat or double-edged razor is a commitment of time and relaxing thing I enjoy. Then a nice fragrance after. I’m a big fan of Bleu de Chanel as it works in every scenario and time of year, but lately I’ve been loving the newest Dior Sauvage Elixir. Just can’t beat how it feels after.

I know its trendy but I like the way it looks and feels. I used to watch my dad and there's an old fashioned barber in the area. Sometimes I'd steal a peek in the window while they're getting pampered and smile.

You know how to spoil yourself and that's important. I like that a lot. A man who takes care of himself will make sure his lady does the same and that's a win/win for both.

But I will oblige:

All-around feminine cuteness in mannerisms and appearance is what i adore most in the fairer gender. And believe me; my personal definition of cuteness holds no narrow bounds. ^_^

I described one instance here quite recently, actually. Haha, it's nice to know that kind of thing is appreciated, because I really enjoy it. It's hard to explain, but there's just something so gratifying about helping a women out with something. Even small stuff. It's not about ulterior motives, or "maybe she'll like me" or anything like that. I just really get a boost from being helpful. Makes me feel confident, and competent. Especially if the task is really difficult and I manage to succeed.

At work we kept getting these enormous flies that were bothering my female coworkers, so I bought a salt-shooting bug shotgun, and an electric fly swatter. XD I'm now known as "The Terminator" at work. Haha

Yes! Being clean shaven is so contrary to what's popular, but I'm a shave every day kind of person.
I also wear fragrance. BDC is great and versatile, Sauvage Elixer is a powerful throwback kind of fragrance I have to be very careful with my sprays on that one.
ive been rocking Mont Blanc Explorer or Light Blue Summer Vibes mostly this summer.

It's part of the absolutely wonderful design that God weaved into us as men and women. Isn't it fantastic? I love it. Things we can't always entirely explain, we just know when it feels amazing and awesome. Men thrive on feeling capable, respected, needed, looked up to. And it's the most lovely thing in the world when you, as a woman, can give that to him.
