Housing prices are falling as inventory increases. People who are selling their house are making great money; is this not a good thing? Higher interest rates have an upside, since CDs and bonds pay more. The free market at work.
Can you stop last agree on the truth. The housing market is not allowing the everyday person to go out and but a house. The interest rates are too high to afford it. Paying double for a house. Come on you can see some things are worse.

I wish there were some hungry investigative reporters out there who care more about truth than brand loyalty. I'm sure there would be much more interesting news stories than "trump has some documents that aren't really important but let's charge him with treason"

They are only slurs and insults to those who apply. The scripture says it. The wicked flee when no man pursues. I say. Raise a flag and see who salutes. Another way to think about it is to yell an insult in a crowd and see who gets offended. Say "I am looking for a doctor!" and see who ducks out. It is a self identify test. Perceptions perceptions perceptions.
No, that simply isn’t true. A slur is a slur whether or not it applies to me. I’m not Black but the n-word is still an insult. Likewise even though I’m not a dude, I can say that “soy boy” is meant to be an insult.

Insults are not effective arguments except perhaps when you’re preaching to the choir or dog whistling.

Mortgage rates are about half of what they were back when I was first house buying in NYC, so while I sympathize a bit you really lack perspective. Are you aware that mild inflation as a sign of economic expansion is considered beneficial to the greatest number of people.

What makes you think that the documents aren’t important? The reason that Trump’s indictment and pending trial(s) is important is that it is a first for this country.

The real world.

Yeah, we can all see that you are not going to reason (why start now?) although practice might have been beneficial. [snark for snark]

That may have been true in pre-pride days. Now words like gay and queer are used freely and openly by both pro and con. You can't use such words during pride events as a badge of pride and then claim offense when other people use them also.
“We're here, we're queer, we're coming for your children,”
Is that offensive? It sounds like a threat to me.
When it comes to the n-word. I have always thought that a terrible word. Yet for years it has been used freely and openly in songs and conversation. I still cannot use it. How can someone claim offense at words they themselves use openly and even pejoratively themselves?

"Soy boy" was the slur, not "queer" or "gay".

“We're here, we're queer, we're coming for your children,”

It sounds like a misstating of the actual chant, "We're here, we're queer, we aren't going shopping" to me.

I think a really good example of that are those who label themselves "Deplorable".

allegedly: to convey that something is claimed to be the case or have taken place, although there is no proof.

alleging: to say that someone has done something illegal or wrong without giving proof.

Unverified information isn't evidence of wrongdoing, so no.
They always state "allegedly" until it is proven in a court. They even call known murderers "suspects" until they are convicted.

From what I understand... they have the texts that Hunter sent.. They state "I'm sitting here beside my Dad" and threaten the receiver that the money better be paid by that day.

Only Pelosi states that people (those on the "right" ) Have to prove their innocence.

The main stream media is owned by those that own the Democrats, the DOJ, the FBI and many attorney generals, lawyers and judges.

If you want to find the truth... look for the news from those that the security will no longer allow in press conferences, at rallies, promotional talks and other events. They usually get strikes against them and demonetized on YouTube as well.
IF they are getting harassed and muzzled... listen to them and see why.

When I bought my first house, interest was 8%... but the payments were still not close to 1/2 of my salary. Down payments were achievable.. and rent was not more than mortgage payments.
With prices and interest rates at the levels they are today... the estimate for a young couple is to save for 25 years for a down payment alone.

Kids today have to live in their parents basement due to rent costs, fuel costs, interest rates and salaries that have not risen to meet the new levels of inflation.

Meanwhile... banks make record profits.

IMO, it's a distraction from the Biden corruption that is building... and not going away. Biden's health issues are more apparent. Cocaine at the WH... Hunters texts, tax information, emails and other evidence is slowly breaking through the stone wall of the FBI, CIA, and DOJ.

Quick question.. If the cops came to your house and found cocaine... and you couldn't get anyone to admit that it was theirs... who do they charge? Someone is getting charged... it's the home owner... Yep... you.

Same as if it was in your vehicle... can't prove it was someone in your car.......You're done.

Well, it’s not Biden’s house, and it wasn’t found in the private residence. The house actually belongs to the people so should they charge all American taxpayers?

So, what? We are going to not have Capitalism anymore? As you point out, interest rates on homes are no worse now than when you first bought your home -- it is housing prices that have increased. Housing prices have increased because that is what people are willing to pay to live in certain areas. If you go out of those areas, particularly small towns in "flyover country," you can likely find a house that is easily affordable. The issue with most houses (other than houses have grown substantially over the last few decades) is not the cost to build the house, it is the price of the land the house is sitting on. I'm not sure how you "fix" that without restricting "capitalism" -- such as forcing multi-family dwellings or using some type of "rent control."

In order for the economy (and especially the housing-market) to grow (make more money than “last year”) in times of low inflation, new and existing homes must increase in price.
High house-prices are a feature of quantitative-easing policies, which kept interests rates “artificially*” low, and that linger a bit too long.

If homes don’t stabilize and even go down in price, the expense to the middle-class to purchase housing will become too much and they’ll stop looking and buying.
The banks are going to be “going through some stuff”, (again!), as they “adjust” to market conditions of high prices and the highest interest rates in 30 years.**

*finance largely is a religion of money, economists being the “priests” thereof
**I just noticed that this completely off-topic, mea culpa.

I think you are confusing the cart and the horse. I could claim the same about new cars -- that the price of new cars has to go up in times of low inflation. It is actually the other way around -- people, in times of low inflation and low interest feel they have more money. Because they feel the have more money, they look to buy big ticket items that they normally wouldn't -- they get that size larger SUV or truck (though gas prices influence this, as well).

It's the same with housing. If people feel like they have "plenty" of money (unlike feeling poor, when inflation and interest rates are high) they look for more expensive homes -- bigger homes and better neighborhoods. Since plenty of people feel they are doing well, there is competition, particularly in those nicer neighborhoods. A great example that I know of is Utah; where in the late Obama and pre-COVID Trump years there was a huge demand for homes. Often homes sold within days of going on the market, and they owner was offered tens of thousands more than the asking price.

I won't claim banks are innocent but, as you pointed out, they aren't charging higher rates than when you bought your home. They aren't the ones pushing people to offer more than the asking price on homes; no, that is because a house would go on the market and 20 people would offer -- so they kept bidding each other up -- demand was outstripping supply. Simply capitalism at work.
