Why not? They are trying to take away marriages for gay people, so why not take away their choices for websites, cakes, DJ's and venues because some refuse to work with them. This is how they will push gays out of the mainstream and back to being a counter-culture group.

I wonder how many websites that Christian graphic artist makes for heterosexuals who have been married multiple times, have had children out of wedlock and straight up adulterers?

I can understand the free speech argument, but I'm concerned about consistency. Sotomayor brought up the interracial couple situation, which is a very good point. Gorsuch handwaved the answer without really addressing it, as far as I can tell. I'll need some clarification.

The decision does not apply to things like venues, limousine services, hotels/motels, etc... It specifically benefits artists. bakers, web designers, painters, sculptors, florists, etc.

How would a website designer know if someone was an adulterer, has had children out of wedlock, has been married multiple times, etc.? If they don't know how would it be offensive or sinful for them?

Some would say it is a victory for free speech. There are bakers etc in every city, why not just go to another instead of trying to punish someone for their beliefs.

Those were rhetorical questions. But, it is so easy for them to see the gay and feel relieved they don't have to post pictures of two men hugging, because of Jesus. Yes, ignorance is bliss, and not all sins are created equal.

Nope - Money is not the key to everybody - some people live by their beliefs and will not change them even if money is the issue. Some people cannot be bought.

The punish part I was referring to is the cost these small business owners need to go through to defend their right to follow their beliefs. If I were to walk into a bakery and ask for a specific cake and was told no - for whatever reason - I'd go to the next one. Not open a court case.

Example: I am a conservative Christian. I go into my local Lebanese bakery (phenomenal breads!)

I ask them to bake a cake with "Jesus is the one and only Lord".

They refuse because to a Muslim, that is blasphemy. Do i sur them, or just simply find another baker?

Sonia Sotomayor is Hispanic and was appointed by America's first interracial President. Like everyone else, she was fully aware Barack Obama is only half black. So it makes sense she was the justice who brought that up.

The issue with inconsistency is obvious. If you can marry whoever you want to regardless of race, you can also marry a member of the same sex. The SCOTUS cant' have it both ways. Do the conservative justices want to ban interracial marriages too?

But there is something else to consider: Both the right to marry a member of another race and the right to marry a person of the same sex were affirmed by the SCOTUS years ago on the basis of the U.S. Constitution. Everyone always had those rights since 1791.

Yes, and the Supreme Court also claimed that abortion was settled law, until it was not. Gay marriage is on the list of what republicans want to do away with.

Don't believe this for a tenth of a second. There are thousands of web site designers - no one is pushing anyone out of anything by refusing to work for them. Somehow he thinks that since they have opposed gay marriage forever that today they don't! It took 50 years for them to overturn abortion, and they will not stop until gay marriage is also repealed.
