  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It’s going to be in the 90’s this weekend and decided to make this. It’s great on a hot day. Refrigerate leftovers.

1 (8 ounces) cream cheese softened
1/2 cup sugar
8 ounces cool whip thawed*
6 cups berries I used:
3 cups strawberries sliced
1 cup blackberries
1 cup blueberries
1 cup raspberries

Instructions

In a large bowl, beat together cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy. Fold in the thawed cool whip.

Add strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries. Fold carefully into the cream cheese mixture. Serve immediately.

Hi Michie

Sounds like an ideal dessert for my part of the world.

What is "cool whip"?

(and what's an 'ounce'? )

Here is a description of Cool Whip:

As far as an ounce, I had to look it up but it appears that it is 30 grams for dry measure and 30ml for liquid measure.

Thanks Michie. Looks like Cool Whip is synthetic whipped cream. I found something which said it was available here a few years back but nobody would buy it. I can use real cream and whip it.

I was kidding you about the ounce thing. We used to use ounces when I was a young man way back in the Dark Ages when we used Imperial measurements like pounds and miles and pints. I get some recipes off the net so I often need to convert from US Medieval measurements to Metric.

Thanks again.

Yeah I do Cool Whip in a pinch. But real cream can be used as well. It’s a lot fattier though.

I love real cream and since I'm not carrying too much extra weight I can get away with eating it occasionally.
