• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Scared God may be telling me something.

So, backstory, I have OCD. Ive had OCD since I was born actually, so im used to its tricks and other torture methods. But recently things have become a little too real. Ill be thinking about things I want to have happen in the future and sometimes ill get a sharp physical sensation on specific thoughts. This sensation will always occur if I go over the thought again at a later date as well. Something inside me tells me that these sensations means that the thought is false and the scary part is, recently its turned out to be RIGHT. Like 8 times. And now its going after things it can't be right about. Its causing me so much anxiety, im unmotivated to do anything, I dont even want to get up in the morning. I need help, I can't tell if this is God or what. But it scares me so bad.

I should also add that this is always predicting things I specifically DON'T want to have occur.

Just because the subconscious can calculate what will happen, it doesn't mean God is speaking.

The focus on "being right" is ego oriented, the opposite of God.
So not God?
Also how is it ego oriented? Its kinda crucial if a prediction is true or not.

I recommend to examine the character of the message. Basing it on being a correct prediction is like relying on a psychic. We were taught by Jesus that we know false and true prophets by their fruit, thus the character of the message is important.

Character texts such as the fruit of the spirit in Galatians 5, the difference between heavenly and demonic wisdom in James Chapter 3, and what to build upon once you have faith in progression in 2 Peter Chapter 1.

It isn't from God. The world will cause aniexty and stress. Matthew chapter 11:29. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; ye shall find rest unto your souls. 11:30. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light. Jesus is our advocate and high Priest. Instead of seeking balm from the world, like psychiatric help or healthcare. Ask Jesus for help. The balm of this world cant help you. Only Jesus can help you. When two horses are pulling a wagon. The yoke will shift some weight from the weaker horse to the stronger horse. As Christian people, we repent sins to God, and study the bible. When you grow in God's word, the anxiety will weaken. Take your yoke to Jesus. Pray to God. Ask for help. And study the bible. It will heal you. James chapter 1, Faith is the key.

Pray through it like you would roll out dough until it eventually flushes out and isn't occurring. Keep doing this and move forward.

You will be ok, Jesus is more powerful than any stumbling block that might try to exist. Pray them into non-existence and they are cast into the sea. Have faith of a mustard seed and it will be done.

I have slight OCD. I am also diagnosed mentally ill and take medication for it.

What helps me is praying through it. You will get through this have faith, Jesus is with you.

Well. The message is this. In heaven, all we will do is stand around Gods throne and sing praise for eternity. This really bums me out. Because while I absolutely want to sing praise to God, I dont want that to be my entire existence. Thats not what humans were made to do anyways, hence I dont desire it.

Well this idea you have of Heaven doesn't exist. So if that were a reality I wouldn't want that either. Heaven is much more than that, much bigger than Earth, much better than Earth. We get new glorified bodies, we will fly we will have houses in Heaven we will have better food better relationships even possibly jobs or tasks to do. His ways are higher than ours.

Who are we to limit God, it is not some trivial thing to be in Heaven. If you truly knew what was in Heaven you would be bored of Earth, trust me.

If you are serious about learning about Heaven go look up Near Death Experiences. People have been dying and brought back to life, people have experienced Heaven and come back for years. They're all over the internet just read 1 account.

Here i'll even help: Here is an account of a man who died and came back, his name is Howard Storm this interview is 1+ hour long.

Well, not everyone is called for every purpose. Perhaps you should focus on what desires God has placed in your heart instead?

God is not the author of confusion, and that's what seems to be happening to you at the moment.

He wouldn't torment you like this.

It could be spiritually caused ie. demonic, but I'd be far more inclined to say your OCD is possibly increasing, even if it may be short term.

Are you on any medication or do you have a trustworthy counsellor, psychologist or psychiatrist? I think you might find them to be of more help than a group of strangers on a forum who hardly know you.

It's not God. You don't have to worry about that.

This is your OCD, not God. I'd encourage you to speak to your doctor or counselor, if you have one. Feel better soon!
