The country-rock performer is among those apparently triggered by the beer giant's decision to partner with Dylan Mulvaney, a transgender activist and influencer.

This one's a toss up... Dylan Mulvaney vs. Kid Rock...I don't know whose side I should be taking...

On one hand,
You have a phony partisan influencer, who's annoying, and desperately seeks attention

On the other hand,
You have a phony partisan influencer, who's annoying, and desperately seeks atten............

Oh wait, never mind, they're both equally obnoxious and attention-seeking.

All that aside, let's all be honest here, Bud Light's shameless attempt at "rainbow capitalism" is only like... the 4th or 5th worst thing about their product. So I would question Kid Rock on this one... the fact that they've been making low-ABV swill that smells like urine and selling it to you for 20 years was acceptable, but this is the thing that makes you not like Bud Light? And to the makers of Bud Light, I would ask... could you really not find any better transgender role model or figurehead than an obnoxious person like Dylan Mulvaney?

The gay community has long been supported by Big Beer, now BB is more vocal about this truth.
1/10 on the SMHmeter.

Celebrities boycotting alcohol over LGBTQ+ endorsement.
There's a sobering thought.

I just heard Kid Rock was merging into the highway and suddenly hit the back of a Bud Lite truck. Both truck and car stopped and the door to the Bud Light truck flipped open and a mountain of Bud Light cans fell and smashed through Kid Rock's car.

I'm sorry to report.. he.. didn't .. make it..

And some of which are celebrities (like Kid Rock, himself) who evidently didn't seem to care much one way or the other about it as recent as 10 years ago.

1680960195922.png

Even as recent as 2015 he was making statements like:
Fiscally, I'm Republican. But the social issues kill me — gay marriage and abortion. It's like, Come on, man, get off it. There's so many big problems we got that we really need to address in this country.

Two years prior to that in 2013, he was making statements like this:
Rock singer Kid Rock has said that he supports equal marriage, and has spoken out to say that he was “<expletive deleted> embarrassed to be a Republican”, because of some party policies regarding the issue. He said. “It’s <expletive deleted> Republican lawmakers passing those laws, you dumb <expletive deleted>. They already did it in New York and they’re trying to do it in Michigan. I’ve even called some of those guys to try and stop it.”

It would seem as if there's only 1 of 2 explanations.

1) The LGBTQ movement has progressed to a point where it surpassed his own comfort level, so he's opted to make a radical shift in the other direction (it's not unheard of for that to happen on various issues...it's not super common, but it does happen. An example of another person who's done that is Dave Rubin, who went from being a member of the far-left Young Turks, and opted to pick up his show and move it over to Glenn Beck's right-wing network after an ideological rift with other progressives on the topics of Israel and Islam)

2) The more likely scenario, which is that he's stuck his finger in the air to see which way the wind was blowing (with regards to the people who listen to his music), and just started parroting their own views back to them in order to stay relevant.

Ironically, a "big beer" is usually the lingo used at the craft breweries I go to to describe a beer with a high ABV...so it's odd to hear Bud Light and "big beer" in the same sentence lol.

Clearly this will be the end of Budweiser just like the reaction against Carhartt requiring vaccinations for their workers banished their work wear from all construction sites.

Almost managed to type that without smirking.

Don't forget about the people buying Nike shoes for the sole purpose of making videos of themselves burning them to post on social media.

That'd be the one I'd be more inclined to agree with it.

He's been something of a "cultural chameleon" over the years.

From Detroit rapper, to Nu Metal, to Country/Rock, all in under a 30 year time period. ...adopting the look, the persona, and the lingo along the way with each change.

Not to mention the back story of being “straight out the trailer” when he was straight out of the country club. Which was fine if kid was a stage persona distinct from Robert James Ritchie but that’s not how it has been played.

I guess being a "poser" alone isn't something I'd go out of my way to fault him for had he behaved like every other musician who fakes an identity (collected the check and kept his mouth shut), it's the fact that he's using one of his various "poser" identities to try to make serious political statements using the phony identity for some sort of street cred.

Drake, Rick Ross, Pantera, I'm sure people could name others who made up their persona... however I can't think of another musician off the top of my head (besides Kid Rock) that's used one of their fake personas to try to inject their fabricated character's "perspective" into mainstream politics. Apart from maybe some of the early punk rock bands?

I’m drawing a blank as well.
