NOT A QUOTE: Really, the safest way for Trump to arrive in courtI without disrupting traffic and inconveniencing New Yorkers would be a parachute jump on to the courthouse roof. After all, George HW Bush jumped out of a plane when he was 90, and Trump can't allow George HW Bush to outdo him when he makes his grand appearance before a grand jury. Ia am kind of disappointed, though. So many states and municipalities and even the DOJ trying to offer him 3 hots and a cot in their local prisons and the one that might land him will be indicting him for bribing Stormy Daniels? Could it be a Sampson and Delilah thing? It took a woman to bring him down?

This picture keeps coming into my head of Stormy Daniels dressed seductively, marching into court singing "The Cell Block Tango."

'He had it comin'
He had it comin'..."

I worked in NYC for three years in the 1970's and am very glad I won't be there on Tuesday.

FYI - the quote is no where stated in the link in the OP

What IS said in the link:

There has been no public announcement of any timeframe for the grand jury's secret work, including any potential vote on whether to indict the ex-president.
The law enforcement officials, who were not authorized to speak publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity, said authorities are just preparing in case of an indictment. They described the conversations as preliminary and are considering security, planning and the practicalities of a potential court appearance by a former president.
Sounds like something Adam Schiff would be all over.

@Fantine the question begs - where did this quote come from:

In searching for the parachuting quote, this was the very first link that came up:

Attorney General Merrick Garland is not going to save democracy. Nor is the attorney general of New York, Letitia James; the Manhattan district attorney, Alvin Bragg; nor the Fulton County district attorney, Fani Willis. As the apparent collapse of the New York district attorney’s investigation makes clear, criminal cases are hard to make. Donald Trump, despite his many seemingly criminal acts, is unlikely to ever spend a day in jail.
Observers of the Trump malignancy have an unfortunate habit of wish casting—believing that their most optimistic fantasies will become reality. They did this with the Mueller investigation—remember “It’s Mueller Time”?—and they did it with both of Trump’s impeachments. Their dream has always been that somehow, somewhere, someone would call Trump to account for his actions and, in doing so, save American democracy.
Today, many invest the ongoing criminal investigations of Trump in New York, Georgia, and Washington, D.C., with the same hopes. Even my good friend George Conway has speculated that this time things might be different.
I don’t see it happening. Please don’t misunderstand; I am as convinced as anyone of the criminality of Trump’s conduct, and nothing would please me more than to see him get his deserved comeuppance. He should, and very well may, be indicted in one or more of these jurisdictions. And the civil suits against him may have legs.
But years of experience prosecuting fraught political cases (and defending others) has taught me that the criminal law is a blunt tool for achieving justice and a poor means of resolving political issues. In my judgment, the chances that Trump will be convicted of any crime are slim to none. And though I am no political analyst, my guess is that a failure to convict will only embolden him and his followers.
It is a good read from a writer that is far from pro Trump as you can get.

If this actually happens I think this will be the first of three indictments, if not four. This is typical Trump. In reality, he could have worked this out with prosecutors down to nothing. The same thing with the Trump Org which is now officially a criminal org. He didn't have to lie about Trump U, but he couldn't help himself. If it's a benefit to him, he will do the wrong thing every time. He didn't have use Trump Foundation donations for personal use, but he couldn't help himself. If it's a benefit to him, he will do the wrong thing every time. He didn't have to try to extort Ukraine into opening up an investigation he thought harmful to his opponent, but he couldn't help himself. If it's a benefit to him, he will do the wrong thing every time. He didn't have to try to steal an election, but he couldn't help himself. If it's a benefit to him, he will do the wrong thing every time. He didn't have obstruct the return of classified documents, but he couldn't help himself. If it's a benefit to him, he will do the wrong thing every time.

Now he is literally calling for protests in the street, because once again, if it's a benefit to him, he will do the wrong thing every time. There is a certain psychological classification of people who show no regard for right or wrong.

That article was written a year ago. Before the classified documents. Before the J6 special counsel. Before all those Trump supporters lost their subpoena fights. As the author notes, "the criminal law is a blunt tool for achieving justice and a poor means of resolving political issues." All people are asking is the scales of justice be the same for everyone.

And just like the insurrection, his loyal followers will get themselves into prison, while Trump and his elites seem to avoid any legal repercussions. Trump pardoned all his rich and powerful priviledged friends and left the plebs who he has been grifting for years, to rot in jail.

Here's his second post of the day calling for protests.

He could use a good editor. Sean Spicer danced off the national stage (in 9th place or so?) McEneany has her own version of Untruth Social on Fox News, I guess. Conway is divorcing her wise and intuitive husband George. Another aide is on the View. And then there is Sarah Huckabee Sanders seeing if she can out DeSantis Ron DeSantis in Arkansas, a state that is catastrophically and desperately in need of a loyal (and large) opposition.

It gets worse. EXCLUSIVE: New York Prosecutors Want Donald Trump To Do Perp Walk In Handcuffs On Criminal Charges From Stormy Daniels Scandal

He wants to be the martyr--a perp walk is playing into his hands.

He doesn't need a perp walk. He needs a gag order.

Ok I am getting lost here. I understand your far left views but this went from "Trump Indictment" that might maybe could never happen to talking about McEneany, Conway and her person life devoice which has to be painful.. praying for them both. Then Huckabee... whats this about?

"He could use a good editor."

I was referring to his ability to write a clear, cohesive message using both capital and small letters. Trump Unedited is not pretty, but his former press people have all left him. Even Huckabee Sanders is delaying an endorsement.
