I realize they last years now but I had to go out and buy some daylight bulbs for downstairs when mom moves up. I spent over 80 dollars and I’m still not done. Crazy! To finish up it’s probably going to be another 100! Ugh. It’s just impossible how much things cost anymore.

Do you get the LED ones? They're a bit pricier but man they last forever cause there's no filament to break. I've been a fan of those for years cause I feel like you really get your moneys worth.

They range from 50,000-100,000 hours of life so if you average 10 hours of usage a day that could be almost 15-30 years before you have to replace one.

Yes I bought LED. I have high ceilings and was not wanting to change them out again anytime soon. I could only find the daylight ones in LED.

Even in the case of LEDs they should still only cost pennies. Lightbulbs are one of the cheapest things in the world.

Off topic, but America needs to get to grips with how a switch socket works. It's a small niggle, but it seriously irritates me every time I come to visit and get zapped removing a phone charger.

I got to get more tomorrow. I spent a couple hours getting on a ladder changing everything out and still need about 12 more lights. Plus I want to make sure the stairs are well lighted. I’m chilling out for the rest of the evening. That was a job! I figure I’ll change out the lamps with warmer lights (which I like) but for her navigating around, the daylight LEDs are best. But when she is winding down, the warmer lights will be nice. Her vision is getting pretty bad anymore.

Our church went to LEDs. The bulbs are about $150 each but to get to the lighting, someone has to crawl through the ceiling from the choir loft. Replacing the standard filament bulbs was a nightmare for the bulb changer. If you stepped wrong, that first step could be a doozy.

I just went to Home Depot and bought another 100.00 worth of bulbs. Ended up buying a furniture set for the sunroom too. I wanted to replace it for a more comfortable one since mom is moving up in the next few weeks.
