  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Massad Ayoob is an expert for self defense. His father owned a jewelry store, and from a very early age he learned how to properly defend himself and his family. His zeal for acquiring knowledge on this subject landed him in a position of training police forces. He has written many books; and I have purchased a few. He gives lots of practical tips on how to avoid using deadly force, in a wide variety of situations.

Recently, I discovered that he has a Youtube channel; and I have just begun to explore the information that he is offering for free. Although his books are some of the best investments that I've ever made. Alotta bang for the buck! :)

In this segment he discusses the practical applications of the AR-15 for home defense, including what type of ammunition to use in specific situations, magazine capacities, and adjustable stocks.

I like X military trainer and home defense teacher Paul Harrell. Many good videos out there, a bit of dry humor but he covers a multitude of various weapons and simple strategies to use them and why.

I like Paul Harrell. If a bag of Valencia oranges and pork ribs wearing an old army jacket ever breaks into my house, I'll be ready.

You made me smile !

True but in one of his videos he explains why he prefers that combo to ballistic gel that most testers use. Pork ribs are very close to human ribs in meat density and bone as well. Cavity thickness too. Most people wear cloths, jackets etc. And fruit is much like lung tissue. Gel is gel. Now since it's not advisable to shoot humans for test purposes this simulates a real body better than gel does.

An AR-15 for home defence is called overkill. What are you expecting, the North Korea army to invade your home? Is America that violent that you need such weapons to defend your home? Then again I suppose you got all those Trump supporters out there.
