The Church of Satan, from what I remember, is a registered religion. In our time of "freedom of religion" it must be given the same respect that Christian, Muslim, Buddhists, and Scientology religions receive.Va. elementary school hosts first After School Satan Club meeting.
The After School Satan Club was created in response to CPS authorizing the Good News Club, a Christian club, to hold after-school meetings at B.M. Williams. Some local parents said they simply wanted to bring an inclusive alternative for their non-Christian children, and that the club really isn’t about Satan. “We are non-theistic,” said Rose Bastet, a volunteer organizing the club. “I understand the apprehension behind the satanic name, but he is just an imaginary figure that we look to because he is the eternal rebel that fought for justice and humanity.”
Of course... Christianity is the only religion that you can persecute and not be called out. From the linked article:

Why "off Campus"? The school should have every right to have a Christian club on campus. I cannot see the harm in it.Christians seem to think they can have rights that no one else can. If they have an after school club, then so can any other faith. Muslims can. Satanists can. Hindus can. Buddhists can. All of them.
I am all for Christian clubs but they should look off campus for locations for it.
Because then the school also has the right to have a Satan club or Muslim club or a Scientology club or atheist club on campus. It is one thing to have that on a college campus but elementary school or high school- I don't think so.Why "off Campus"? The school should have every right to have a Christian club on campus. The organization of Good News Clubs that works for the salvation of children has been a common ministry in the deep South for a very very long time. My church that I attended in Huntsville Alabama sponsored a few. It's on par with the Awana ministry in terms of longevity. From the linked article:

It doesn't really matter where it is held, IMO. Holding something "on campus" may be the most convienient place for some students. They can certainly get to the campus. Getting to another location may not be that easy.Because then the school also has the right to have a Satan club or Muslim club or a Scientology club or atheist club on campus.
