Jacob does not give me hope, God and His promise does, that all who believe in The Messiah, receives God's free gift of Eternal Life salvation. There is no other assurance, than God's testimony, promise..

Despite the fact he was a thief, liar, deceitful, etc. Despite that, God loved Jacob. That gives some of us a lot of hope,. What do you think??
In heaven it is written there are no liars, not even one; no thiefs, not even one; no one deceitful, not even one.

Jacob was not in heaven when he was all those things unless you believe heaven is here on earth.
Even one, liar, would put him in the lake of fire

our Hope is in what God promises us in His Word ...
What is going to happen to Jacob ...only God knows ... but for now he is in the grave (quber).

Jhn 3:13
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

Good Truth.
Most of the world, religious or unreligous, seems not to be able to accept the truth.
We all once were subject to the prince of the power of the air.....

Jesus set me free, or I would still be subject to the prince of the power of the air with all the world still subject.

How did you obtain your freedom , did you purchase it ? /hint: this is for the benefit of others to see how they might be set free/

The Bible does not explicitly say what the eternal fate of the OT figures was. However, given that Jesus died for the sins of the world, we may hope that his death forgives the sins of those who came before him, just as it forgives the sins of those who come after him.

There's no way for us to know the eternal fate of anyone, but as many have already stated, faith in God's promises is enough.
We know the eternal fate of Jesus, clearly, as the Father reveals this.

Likewise the betrayer, as the Father reveals this.

Likewise others when and who and as the Father reveals in His Purpose, Plan, Pleasure and Word.

If our eternities depended upon how good we are to get to heaven, every last one of us would spend eternity in hell.

The Bible doesnt actually say what the eternal fate of OT figures is, except maybe in a couple of places like Matthew 27:52-53, Luke 16:19-31, and Hebrews 11. From those passages, I think we can safely assume that figures of faith from the OT are in fact in heaven.

But again, thats not because of how good they were, its because they had faith in God.

No.
It does not help nor be accurate to assume anything, especially when the assumption is in evidence not indicated.

So let's see...

After Jesus was crucified the scriptures say that "saints who had fallen asleep" wandered through the streets and appeared to many. What saints existed at this time but were dead? The only possible candidates are OT personalities. The first "saint" to die in the NT was Stephen and he didn't pass for likely a couple years after Jesus' ascension

Next, we see the passage in Luke 16 about the rich man and Lazarus. Jesus references how Abraham (an OT 'saint') was with Lazarus on the other side of the divide, while the rich man was in flames (presumably hell). If Abraham was not in flames in hell, then where was he?

Lastly, Hebrews 11 is full of stories of OT faithful who God found faithful and in Hebrews 11:16 the scriptures even state these people were looking for a "heavenly" home, or country.

So maybe assumption wasn't the word I should use, the scriptures pretty clearly indicate that OT believers will be in heaven, because of their faith

I don't know, only God does.

However, I find it interesting along those lines that God renamed Liar, into God Prevails.
