I recall some famous and respectable rock musician being asked who he thought was the best guitarist ever. And he told this story of Beck picking up a guitar with one hand right where the neck joins the body, and then letting gravity slide the git through his hand as he plays these amazing note figures with that hand on the way down. Said he'd never seen anything like it.

(Anyone know who told this story?).
