Nancy and her staff need to testify under oath.

Actually the bill removed authority for calling out the National Guard from the Capitol Police Board and gave it directly to the Chief of the Capitol Police. It couldn't remove authority from politicians because they didn't have that authority in the first place.

Also, does Mitch McConnel need to testify under oath since the Senate Seargent of Arms is equal in authority to that of the House Seargent of Arms? They both turned down the request after all.

Mitch should testify as well, I agree. Nancy Pelosi had the influence that authority brought. But let's all hear what she has to say under oath. She should be asked why she kept the Republicans out of the Capitol security planning as well.

But the more that comes out over time.. nothing what so ever will happen and all the wrong that was done.. the left and media when they have been shown wrong never say oops we missed it. I'm sorry, how did Speaker Pelosi keep Republicans out of Capitol Security planning? Again, Sen. McConnell, a Republican, had co-equal authority, so there was no way for Speaker Pelosi from keeping "the Republicans out of the Capitol security planning."

Oh - this is from the VERY biased Republican committee who did not participate in the Jan. 6th committee, therefore did not get to hear all the Republican witnesses testify in committee - just the public one if they bothered to listen to it.

It is just a biased hit piece. Pathetic.

Yes, the House Sergeant of Arms works for the Speaker. I'd love to see precedent that the opposing party is commonly involved in security decisions.

In the meantime, it again ignores that the Senate Sergeant of Arms, who has equal authority to the House Sergeant of Arms, worked exclusively for the Majority Leader in the Senate -- Mitch McConnel. So what key meetings did the Sen. McConnel hold and what Democrats did he include in security planning? Why isn't this information, since McConnell was just as responsible for Capitol Security as Pelosi, in the Republican House report? How can there be no Republican involvement when the top Republican in the Senate had equal authority and just as much say in security planning?

The fact that the report implies that Pelosi planned and arranged everything, with no Republican participation -- while completely ignoring and not investigating the Senate Majority Leader who had equal responsibility and power -- merely reaffirms this document is a political hit piece and presents a one sided view of events.

You've got it backwards. Pelosi kept everyone off of the committee who might ask about her role. So her role, and whether the shooting of Ashli Babbitt was justified or not, and Trump's offer of up to 20,000 National Guard troops were matters that the select committee refused to discuss, at least openly in public hearings. Transparency is always the key to truth, those who have nothing to hide are willing to put everything out in the open.

This would be false. Pelosi approved at least two Republicans that would have been willing to ask those questions. She approved Rodney Davis of Illinois, who is the top Republican that oversees the Capitol Police in the House -- I would expect he would have sought answers about Capitol Police planning. Another, Troy Nehls of Texas, is very much a Trump Republican. In fact, if you notice, no Republicans were ever appointed to the committee to take their place, they could have joined the committee at any time. Instead, they followed the directives of Rep. McCarthy to not participate.

And there have been both House and Senate investigations into the Jan 6 security failures, separate from the Jan 6 committee. They were caught editing information and that should have resulted in at least one member being disbarred. They introduced second hand information to try and slur President Trump for political reasons. The vast majority of people eventually tuned out.

Good thing I wasn't talking about the Jan 6 committee when I was talking about investigations into Capitol Security on Jan. 6.

As for what I did say about the Jan 6 committee, it refutes your point in the post I responded to -- there were Republicans that would have asked what you believe were tough questions -- they were approved on the committee and not replaced. Blame Kevin McCarthy, and those two Republicans for following his order, for their failure to show up and participate on the committee.
