It is often said that "no news is good news": because most news stories are bad (or believed to be bad from a Christian perspective). Many people assume they will hear or read something bad when they turn on the TV to watch news shows. Why? Because it usually is.

But what if the news story is about the power of God's love and prayers on display? What if a story that started as terrible news became international news about people worldwide showing their support through faith, hope, and charity?

Well, finally such news, in case you are not aware, does exist. The main character is Damar Hamlin, a 24-year old defensive player for the National Football League's Buffalo Bills. This is how it began:

“Damar Hamlin has been discharged from Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute, a Kaleida Health facility in Buffalo, NY. Hamlin was admitted on Monday and went through a comprehensive medical evaluation as well as a series of cardiac, neurological and vascular testing on Tuesday.”

I hope everyone who clicked on this thread (including all those who chose not to post replies) already prayed for Damar Hamlin. He still needs to work towards his recovery, not just sit at home and watch God do His job, to live a normal life and be his normal self again.

Oh the topic…right…right…see, I don’t know who Damar Hamlin is except he had this “heart event” during a football game. And while I’m sure that you’re just broken up over it, (enough to create a thread on him), I really can only relate it to the death my one of my boyhood heros from way back-in-the-day, who is certainly not “on topic”. Besides Clemente died during an aircraft flight that he organized and paid for to ferry needed supplies to earthquake victims in Nicaragua, not during a game.

You don't need to know who Damar Hamlin is to pray for him and feel bad about his living situation. Christian do this every day, or at least every week. Millions of people around the world have prayed for Damar Hamlin's heart recovery and/or sent tons of money to his toy charity in Pittsburgh.

Thank you, upon looking him up I see that he was born & raise about 10 miles from me, I certainly hope that his recovery is quick, complete and thorough.
