The islamic world hates Israel. But why? You will find the answer in Revelation 17:16-17: "And the ten horns which you saw, and the beast, these will hate the prostitute and will make her desolate and naked, and will eat her flesh and will burn her up with fire. For God has put it in their hearts to execute His purpose by having a common purpose, and by giving their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God will be fulfilled."

Well, to be fair, Israel's actions toward the Palestinians are not justifiable. A few of my childhood friends are Muslim, and they tell me that it is mostly about the conflict they have with the Palestinians (even though a good chunk of them are Christian, but you won't hear that on most conservative news sources). The more you learn about the whole ordeal, the less sympathetic you feel for state of Israel. The media, particularly the American press, tend to show only one side of the whole story, and many Christians in the West believe their propaganda. I encourage you to learn more about it, and you too will feel uneasy about supporting such a corrupt government.

Besides this point, the state of Israel is nothing at all related to the Judean kingdom we read about in the Old Testament. They are far from religious, and among the Jews that are show very little hospitality toward anyone not Jewish. I am of the opinion that they should not be a state, or that they should find ways to make amends with the Palestinians. It will require compromise, but no one is willing to let their egos go to do that. No Christian should only be on one side of the fence.

Are you suggesting that God uses our enemies to punish us?
Is this supposed to endear us to our "loving Heavenly Father"?
Not that I have any enemies. Even if we did we are told to love our enemies.
I do not see where Israel loves their Muslim brothers and sisters.

There was a lot of controversy at the time with people that thought Jerusalem should not be established as a nation until the Messiah returns. I think this was a part of the book: "The Chosen" written back in the late 60's.

Did it involve the Ultra Orthodox? I know I've heard that they thought so too (and still do).

Anyone who opposes God will hate God's people. I don't find that particularly surprising. What surprises me more is how someone who has read the Bible and believes it's true can be against God's plan for His people.

You follow an unorthodox doctrine called dispensationalism and want to claim that I don't understand the Bible? Tell me, who among the Church Fathers or Reformation scholars believed that Israel is still God's people? The consensus teaching was Supersessionism. Even the Catholic Church and sects like Jehovah's Witnesses accept this teaching.

You call people who do not believe in the cross God's people? Truly, this is heresy. What does the Epistle to the Hebrews say? Someone who rejects the cross is worse than one who breaks the law of Moses. God hates such people, for without faith it is impossible to please God.

Justin Martyr: "The true spiritual Israel, and descendants of Judah, Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham…are we who have been led to God through this crucified Christ."

Justin Martyr: "The true spiritual Israel, and descendants of Judah, Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham…are we who have been led to God through this crucified Christ."
"I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land. I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms." (Ez 37:21)

"I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them,” says the Lord your God." (Amos 9:15)

"'The days are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when I will bring my people Israel and Judah back from captivity and restore them to the land I gave their ancestors to possess,’ says the Lord." (Jeremiah 30:3)

The Bible is clear that Jews are not saved unless they believe in Yeshua HaMashiach (which you seem to think that I implied that). The Bible is also clear that God wants the Jews to be back in the land of Israel, "never again to be uprooted" from it. If you think just because the Jews rejected Jesus therefore God doesn't have a plan with them anymore, read Romans 11.

I am just going by what Chaim Potok wrote in his books that I read as a teenager. They mostly had to do with father issues and mother issues. The idea is that a Hasidic has to grow up and follow in their father's footprints if he wants to or not. If we study the Cohan gene it is the purest of them all. They did not adopt or play around much at all. There was a whole movie about this. A stranger among us. I had a crush on Melanie Griffith at the time, but not so much anymore. In the movie, she went into the Hasidic community to solve a crime and was trying to figure them out.
If by Orthodox you mean the Hasidic, yes. But my information is secondhand. Although Potok is a Rabbi. I assume what he wrote was a reflection of the discussion between the rabbis at the time. As they say, if you have four Rabbi, you will have five opinions.

I do not know of anyone that rejects the teaching of Jesus. They all accept the Golden Rule. It is interesting how Buddism which goes back before Jesus, still finds a way to endorse the teachings of Jesus. People have a problem with the disciples or the followers of Jesus. But not Jesus himself.

Tell that to the PLO and Hamas. Arafat stole millions from his own people. They are their own worst enemy but keep blaming Israel. Keep drinking the cool aid...

Inform yourself what supersessionism is. You are committing heresy and contradicting a unified teaching.

Regarding Romans 11, when Paul says that God has not rejected Israel, it does not mean that Israel is still God's people. What he means is that every Jew still has the choice to accept Christianity. Therefore, Paul also takes himself as an example by saying "I myself am an Israelite" to mean: "The Jews can also accept the truth as I did". Apparently some Christians of that time thought that Jews were never able to convert and Paul contradicts that.

Please don't take scriptures out of context. Look up what the scholars say. They know better.

Interesting that you conveniently ignore the actual point I made, namely that God still has a plan with the Jews and wants them to be in the land of Israel.

The Bible says a third of them will be saved. Zechariah 13:9 8And in all the land, declares the LORD, two-thirds will be cut off and perish, but a third will be left in it. 9This third I will bring through the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are My people,’ and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’”

I did not ignore, I referred you to the supersessionism doctrine. This teaching states that the promises in the Old Testament refer to the church.

Jesus announced that a new people will inherit the kingdom of God.

Matthew 21:43
The kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who bear its fruit.

Sounds like you are the one that "drank the cool aid".
People are always accusing others of what they are guilty of.

No cool aid here...just the truth...

So you think that Christians will invade Israel and possess Jerusalem? Strange, because the passages I quoted literally say that God will restore them to the land that He "gave their ancestors to possess". This is a biological term, not a spiritual one. Jews are not the ancestors of Christians.

The passage you refer to can be understood spiritually. If not, then it refers to the return of the Israelites after the Babylonian exile and not after the Roman exile.

The land of Israel in this world is not holy at all. Christians will not live there. The holy land, the true Israel, is not here on this sin-infested world; it is paradise. The whole world will be destroyed by Jesus in the end. Heaven and earth will pass away.
