The Mail on Sunday can reveal that Lady Susan Hussey has long attended St Agnes Church in Kennington, an ethnically diverse area of South London.
Lady Susan, 83, resigned as one of the Ladies of the Household at Buckingham Palace after being accused of ‘interrogating’ Ngozi Fulani, of the domestic abuse charity Sistah Space, about her heritage at a function on Tuesday.
Now the congregation at St Agnes has rallied around Lady Susan and dismissed the claim that she is guilty of racial prejudice.

A question She’s clearly comfortable answering because on her biog she gives the game away in the first few lines. AND she’s more than happy to ask it to those who come to her charity because you have to be of African or Caribbean heritage before she'll help

In the Telegraph Ngozi says: "If you invite people to an event against domestic abuse and there are people from different demographics I don’t see the relevance of whether I’m British or not British’"
That’s a good point actually, Ngozi, why should it matter. But your charity seems to think it does, it will only help African and Caribbean people, that to me is racist in itself.
This is what it says on her charity’s Facebook page: "Sistah Space is a safe venue dedicated to African and Caribbean victims/survivors of domestic and sexual abuse and is staffed and managed by volunteers."

Can you imagine if the charity said only white people, I bet she’d be the first to complain.

At face value, the line of questioning is problematic simply because it's vague. When Fulani initially responds, she states who she is in relation to her organization., which I take to be her reason for being there. That makes all kinds of sense. Annoyingly, Hussey asks the same vague question assuming Fulani knows what she means. Perhaps Fulani does, but responds again in relation to who she is representing. Either Hussey is oblivious, which would not be a shock given the class dynamic in play, or she's intentionally pushing Fulani. She finally gets to the point, and Fulani states there are no records. The line of questioning becomes absurd from that point on.

Why does Hussey not engage regarding the organization, which is clearly what Fulani is interested in? That is why they are talking to begin with. Whether Hussey is being intentionally racist or not, and I think she is either consciously or she's simply blinded by her inherent sense of superiority regarding race and class, she is not a great host at all! ^_^

Hussey is old but old enough to have learned some grace by now. If the accounting is accurate.

I think that's Fulani's account, which should be noted. It's not disputed, and Hussey resigned, which tells me there's no good reason yet to doubt it's relative accuracy.
