  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Should Christians observe Easter Week

Should Easter Week from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday take a week off of normal economic activity? So taking the whole week off from normal work in observing Easter Week? And even limiting economic activity that makes a person work or at least do as minimal as possible.

Example is, getting gas from the pump vs gas inside the gas station. If one gets gas from the pump then they will reduce the need for a person working or less people working at the gas station compared to going inside.

I'm just throwing it out there as a potential discussion because it would make a bold witness for the Gospel. That Easter is so important that Christians are willing to take time off either by sacrificing vacation days or actual money (not working) to observe Easter Week.

As a chanter, I start taking time off from Holy Wednesday. I only miss 2 of the 17 services of Holy Week.

Christians should be observing Easter week especially Good Friday and Easter Sunday. They are the two most important days of the year (including more important than Christmas).

I haven't worked since I was sixteen but employers should give Christians Easter week off. If I remember my boss all those years ago gave Christian employees Easter week off. It's against the constitution to deny a Christian their right to observe Easter week.
