  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Apparently, Saudis and now the government of Oman think the Trump brand still has value?

When former President Donald J. Trump returned briefly last week to his office at Trump Tower in New York, he was joined by his son Eric Trump and the top executive of a Saudi Arabian real estate company to sign a deal that creates new conflict-of-interest questions for his just-launched presidential campaign.

The deal is with a Saudi real estate company, which intends to build a Trump-branded hotel, villas and a golf course as part of a $4 billion real estate project in Oman. The agreement continues a practice that had been popular for the Trump family business until Mr. Trump was elected president — selling branding rights to an overseas project in exchange for a generous licensing fee.

But what makes this project unusual — and is sure to intensify the questions over this newest transaction — is that by teaming up with the Saudi company, Mr. Trump is also becoming part of a project backed by the government of Oman itself.
............
The deal Mr. Trump signed was with Dar Al Arkan, the Saudi-based real estate company that is leading the project in collaboration with the government of Oman, which owns the land. It is the second deal signed recently between Mr. Trump and his family that has direct financial ties to a Middle East government.

Why are some people so concerned about Trumps associations and seemingly not at all concerned about Hunter and Joe Biden selling influence?

The following is simply an anecdote, nothing more:

When Trump was elected in 2016, and there were protests (remember those?), a Saudi known to the family expressed bafflement. 'Why are they protesting Trump? Our king likes Trump." How he was privy to such information, or if such information was accurate, I have no idea.

Why do some people chose to never question the extensive foreign associations of the Trump family?

Trump is running for office. He is an official candidate.

Plus all the other unresolved issues he has.

....I assume you agree that 2024 primary voters need to be aware of a candidate's financial relationships.
They don't need to be unaware of them. They also need to be verified, and not rumor spread for political gain. Right now there's a "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" aspect to claims about Trump, so that if something real does surface, it will be a hard sell to those who aren't already biased against him.

Are you suggesting the Trump family did not sign a financial agreement that involves the governments of Saudi Arabia and Oman?

I mean, one thing we've learned the past 7 years is that even public records are part of the great anti-Trump conspiracy and must be suppressed.

The sarcasm expressed here is exactly why I was tempted to get one of those knuckle dusters with "TRUMP" engraved on it, to use as a paperweight. Figured it would freak some out. And I don't even like Trump.

Technically, yes. But he hasn't won the nomination yet.
That's a really bad, unconvincing argument.

Trump is a wolf.

Show me the evidence that Donald, Don Jr., Eric, Ivanka, and Jared sold influence? Is there a lop top with hard evidence or a former partner who can provide eyewitness testimony like there is in the case of Hunter Biden?

Seriously??? who has not been investigated in the Trump family, every attempt was made to find something wrong and no evidence was ever produced.
