Hello, so I received this crucifix as a gift from my folks and had it blessed by my spiritual father after liturgy today. I was wondering if anyone is able to translate the writing on it? It looks like some kind of Slavonic if I had to guess?

The front says
“The King of Glory
Jesus Christ
In this sign conquer”

The back says
“Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.” (Psalm 68:1)

while I don’t know if it’s official, a cross with Psalm 68 on the back is called Soldier’s Cross, because Christ is the warrior Who conquers death.
That's really interesting! Thanks for sharing this information. My priest who is Greek wasn't able to translate it, but he said he thought it was an Old Believer crucifix.

I should add that the English “arise” is expressed in Russian as “resurrect”. Our word, and I guess the original Hebrew (if the Masoretic didn’t deliberately distort it) is a bit vague on that point.
