The perfect recipe in order to trouble our own house (Part 2).

• “He who troubles his own house shall inherit the wind; and the fool shall be servant to the wise in heart.” (Pro 11:29).

*4 - be idle, not providing for your family*. The Holy Scripture is clear:

• “…for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.” (2Cor 12:14).

And the reason can be seen in the Law concerning Levirate marriage:

• “If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband's brother unto her. And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.” (Deu 25:5,6).

See that the name of each man of Israel should be kept alive. The idea is that the fathers bequeath goods (material and spiritual) to their sons and they, in turn, ought to use this to recollect everything that Jesus was in the life of their fathers and keep on this.

*5 – have an over worldly spirit, pushing on business, and hurrying it on beyond measure that the Creator established to it”. Although parents have to nurture their children, this doesn’t mean that they ought to stay nonchalant in regard to the obligations of the quotidian life.

As a father takes the hand of a little child while he is trying to give his first steps, the parents need to train up a child in the way he should go (Proverbs 22:6). After all, the Creator’s plan is to bear a godly seed (Malachi 2:15).

So, the first thing that the children need is of the parent’s presence and, of course, of everything that Jesus is in their life.

*6 - have a niggardly and avaricious temper, withholding food, as well as clothes convenient for your children and spouse”.

• “He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.” (Pro_15:27).

The material resources in our life has only one target: to glorify the Creator making Him and His word known in all the Earth (Gen 1:28; Isaiah 11:9; Habakkuk 2:14; Mat 28:18-20; Mark 16:15):

• “Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:” (Pro 3:9).
• “And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.” (Luk 16:9).
• “Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.” (1Ti 6:17-19).

*7 - be profuse and prodigal*. We can’t be stingy, but we can’t give that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast our pearls before swine (Mat 7:6).

So, have a good week in Christ Jesus, being always present in the life of your spouse and children, always making good use of the resources that Jesus imparted you so that He can be glorified through you and you can be a perfect model of what every human being needs to be, not only now, but in all generations.
