Finding True Wealth (Part 2)

(Can't stay away can I  !!!)

T A K E  F I V E DEVOTIONALS

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes." Luke 12:22,23

Having been pressured from society about always needing to have the next best thing, whether it be house or car or whatever, we can sometimes find ourselves in a mess depending and clinging onto dear life what is considered our JOB. And we know how secure jobs are today?

One writer once described a JOB as Just Over Broke. How many can share that sentiment? Another says that we have to work from Jan through till May paying tax before we even start to see the benefit of the job. So where is this true wealth that I have been talking about. Is it putting aside a little in case of a rainy day? Which doesn't help when every day it seem to rain!! Is it in interest free credit? Partner schemes? Pyramid schemes (altogether separate devotional)? Is it investing in equities, long and short bonds or even real estate? Hmmmm. Now there's a good idea.

No. True wealth is knowing that whether or not you have a job, a roof over your head, little money or lots of it, that God will supply all your needs. Some people outside and inside our own Western society will never know what it is like to live in let alone rent or buy a house, but still have a peace within God. A peace for the future. Knowing like Job did that you are just a traveller, occupying until the Lord comes back. It's very easy to be taken up by the material things of this world and no one is denying us from having them, just make sure that when God is ready to move you on, or to take away those things you depend on almost more than him, be ready to move. Taking the bus can be humbling instead of driving a nice car, but like the sparrow and the lily know he who owns it all will provide for you. Stay blessed and have a great weekend in fellowship with God and others. Asking God to provide that TRUE wealth which is found in him.

Dear God, we praise you that in all things you provide. Right now as we consider our own dependence on you, we also pause to consider those who are in Iraq caught up in the conflict. we pray for a speedy end to this and a minimum loss of life. We pray that we will continue to depend on you solely. In Jesus name. Amen
