• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Im seeing therapist, she is not christian therapist just a regular one, i havent told her about this problem and i dont know should i tell her bc my thoughts are not allowing me.
What are you seeing a therapist for if you’re not going to discus what the problem is?

Are you describing obsessive thoughts or worrying? The two are different. Is there any compulsive behaviour attached to your thoughts?

They diagnosed me with anorexia but the truth is i have lost bunch of weight and became underweight bc my thoughts convinced me that i am commiting gluttony and sinning while eating.
So she doesn’t know the whole truth behind my weightloss.

Ah, okay. That is beyond my training and would respectfully suggest you contact an eating disorder clinic.

Because u enjoy food doesn't make u and glutton. It's having it in excessive amounts that does that. I don't see anything wrong with treating myself to seconds on occasion when I really enjoy something. Gluttony is a thing I often see at Christmas where there is lots of food and people eat till they are stuffed and still want to eat more.

I do hope u get help with the anorexia though...

In other words, it looks like anorexia but is actually more of an OCD thing, right? Have you been able to talk to your therapist about it yet? What are some ways you are currently working on this obsession, or how can you start? I know how hard it can be - I've been dealing with a bit of orthorexia the past couple of years, and obsessions around food can be so difficult! Well, I guess every obsession is difficult LOL. But if you're underweight, it's crucial that you start working on this as soon as possible. Please don't delay in getting help for this. Also, please feel free to pm me any time if you have questions or just need to talk.
