Oh yes... that is expected.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” I John 1:9.
Notice it says HE is faithful. He will do it.
Notice it says He is just. It is a matter of justice for Him. He will do it!

An advocate is like a lawyer. He pleads your case. Jesus is your savior and your advocate!

Father, please comfort Martin, and show him how deeply You love him. Thank You that nothing is too big for You to forgive. Please help him not to feel condemned, but to combat all lies of the enemy with Your Holy Word. Thank You for Your great love and protection. In Jesus Precious Name, Amen.
