Without information as to where these photos were taken and when they were taken, this is useless for comparison. Actually, the fact two clearly different gas stations are being used already makes the comparison largely pointless. In fact, what reassurance do we even have that the numbers were from the presidencies it claims they are?

Also, while it is true that there were some very low prices for gas under Trump's presidency, that occurred due to the strictest parts of the lockdowns. During that time, people were driving a lot less so there was less demand for gas so of course the prices went down. That's not exactly something one can credit Trump for.

Trump supported the keystone oil pipeline which brought gas prices down and made america less dependant on foreign oil.

Biden canceled the keystone pipeline, which had all of the opposite effects.

This would be false. You do realize that the Keystone pipeline was being built to take Canadian oil to the Gulf Coast? It may or may not have been refined in the US -- particularly as US refineries typically cannot refine the type of heavy crude. Instead, the oil is (and even with the pipeline) was to be shipped overseas.

Instead, it was COVID, particularly the lockdowns in most countries, which caused the low oil prices -- little oil was being purchased, since people weren't traveling (even to work), which caused prices to fall. However, as the economy reopened -- even before Trump left office -- the demand for oil increased, while production was low, and it caused to increased prices. The President has had little to do with the increase of oil prices, it is simply a matter (as the Barron's article states) of supply v. demand.

Narrator: the Keystone pipeline was supposed to move oil from Canada.

The two available options are

1. Oil pipeline
2. Transport oil by rail and train

Pipelines do the job cheaper and more reliably.

Eliminating keystone means oil will be transported by rail instead. Which is a lose/lose scenario for all involved. The owners of the rail who profit.

But there were other steps the Biden administration took which drastically increased the cost of oil and gasoline in the US.

Um... no, at least not in the US. Instead, the oil will likely be transported from Alberta to British Columbia, to the ports there, to ship it overseas.

To reduce dependance on foreign oil, the united states turned to extracting oil from shale in canada. Which is a far closer and more reliable source of oil than the middle east.

Moving the oil by pipeline is the lowest cost and most reliable option.

If its not moved by pipeline it must be moved by rail which is far more expensive and prone to catastrophic environmental damage.

Canada is "shipping oil" overseas -- to where, exactly?

If you know the basics of the petroleum industry, you know that explanation makes no sense.

Shale oil was meant to reduce america's dependance on foreign oil. It was not meant to be shipped overseas. Even if that is Joe Biden and democrats flawed approach to things.

I'm going to make Joe Biden supporters do a little work to earn their pay.

..

Florida went 14+ months with no COVID-19 lockdowns.

That's the best response to COVID.

...
Seriously, people are dying at the highest rate of any state in the US. More people will die per 100,000 in florida in the next 20 days per capita than have died in the county I live in in the entire pandemic. And I live in NY where we were accepting Covid cases from downstate when their ICUs were full at the beginning of the pandemic when we had not figured out even basic treatment. This is either disgusting or disgustingly ignorant.

How would a pipe line built to move foreign oil have made us less dependent on foreign oil?

The CDC was caught exaggerating the number of COVID cases in florida.

The US economy is doing terrible. Unbelievably bad numbers across the board.
From ... Gross Domestic Product, 2nd Quarter 2021 (Second Estimate); Corporate Profits, 2nd Quarter 2021 (Preliminary Estimate) | U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA).

"Real gross domestic product (GDP) increased at an annual rate of 6.6 percent in the second quarter of 2021 (table 1), according to the "second" estimate released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. In the first quarter, real GDP increased 6.3 percent."

From ... U.S. corporate profits soar in second quarter; economic growth raised

"U.S. corporate profits surged to a fresh record high in the second quarter, boosted by robust demand and higher prices, suggesting that an anticipated slowdown in economic growth this quarter because of soaring COVID-19 cases could be temporary."

From ... U.S. labor market powers ahead with strong job gains, lower unemployment rate

"U.S. employers hired the most workers in nearly a year in July and continued to raise wages, giving the economy a powerful boost as it started the second half of what many economists believe will be the best year for growth in almost four decades."

That isn't legitimate growth. None of the sources you posted are.

They're all recovery from when the economy hit rock bottom due to COVID lockdowns and supply chain disruptions from china.

Anyone who knows the basics of finance and economics could tell you this.

And still a foreign country.

Some pride themselves on opposing any idea that isn't 100% completely perfect.

They love creating a world where good ideas appear to be bad ideas. Simply due to them containing trivial semantical errors.

You do realize that 2/3rds of the oil refined in the gulf coast area is exported overseas? The oil is sent to any number of countries. And, as was pointed out, Canadian oil does not reduce our use of "foreign oil" -- unless I missed where Canada was admitted to the US?

And, this is what is causing inflation. From Forbes: “We are experiencing this sudden surge in inflation for two main reasons,” says Craig Kirsner, President of Stuart Estate Planning Wealth Advisors in Coconut Creek, Florida. “First, for the past year and a half due to Covid hardly anyone was spending money. Now that the economy is back open, people are spending and traveling and, as such, there is a bottleneck with very high demand. Our system isn’t set up for this high demand level, so that causes inflation in the short term. Second, with interest rates lowered to almost zero since March of 2020, these low interest rates have spurred demand in housing which is experiencing a large backlog as well as adding to inflation worries.”

Saying that Canadian oil isn’t foreign is beyond a semantic error. It’s nonsensical to say we are less dependent on foreign oil by importing foreign oil.
