Here is a article on Jesus that shows how He is the Jehovah God of Abraham, of Creation and the I AM of the burning bush...
In this article we are going to be examining ... on the basis of Holy Scripture and also using much from my favorite author E.G. White.
We must allow “it is written” to interpret scripture not human speculations concerning such terms as the “only begotten” and “Son of God.” For no “scripture is of any private interpretation.” 2 Peter 1:20. The Arian minded person abstracts from the term “only begotten” that Christ came in to existence. This is based on the implication that all beings are conceived and born into existence due to our finite understanding. Did Christ have an origin, was His life conceived and born into existence? Or is His Life Divine?
“Jesus declared, "I am the resurrection, and the life." In Christ is life, original, unborrowed, underived. "He that hath the Son hath life." The divinity of Christ is the believer's assurance of eternal life.” --The Desire of Ages, p. 530.
If we deny the self-existent “original, unborrowed, underived “ divine life of Christ, we deny that He is “the way the truth and the Life” and cast off the believers ONLY “assurance of eternal life.” Only if Christ has with in Himself eternal life can He impart this to His believers. ...
“8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” (Ga 1:8-9 AV)
“ For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.” (2Co 11:4 AV)
Now it would be unfair of me to make such broad and far-reaching declarations with out giving ample evidence to support these conclusions. Through out this article such evidence is offered. I would not have the reader misunderstand anything I am stating. Ample light is given to present that if one denies that Jesus Christ is the “self-existent One” he is in fact rejecting the “YHVH” (Jehovah) of the whole Bible. YHVH or Jehovah means literally, “the self-Existent or Eternal” Strong’s Concordance Hebrew #3068.
“Christ is the pre-existent, self-existent Son of God.... In speaking of his pre-existence, Christ carries the mind back through dateless ages. He assures us that there never was a time when He was not in close fellowship with the eternal God. He to whose voice the Jews were then listening had been with God as one brought up with Him.”--Signs of the Times, Aug. 29, 1900.
Let’s reiterate that ALL scripture must be interpreted by other scripture not by the mind of man. With this thought let’s begin by examining the word “only begotten.”
Q. What does the word “only begotten” literally mean in the original Greek?
A. “3439 monogenes mon-og-en-ace’
from 3441 and 1096; TDNT-4:737,606; adj
AV-only begotten 6, only 2, only child 1; 9
1) single of its kind, only
1a) used of only sons or daughters (viewed in relation to their parents)
1b) used of Christ, denotes the only begotten son of God” Strong’s Concordance.
The term “only begotten” comes from the Greek “monogenes” from which you have these two words 3441“mono” and 1096“genes.” Most are familiar with the term mono and stereo. Monotone is a single voice pitch. Genes are the structure of DNA. Hence “only begotten” or “only born” is a correct translation.
Q. Does the term “only begotten” (monogenes) refer to anyone besides Christ?
A. “17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, 18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:” (Heb 11:17-18 AV)
Note: Isaac was the second son born to Abraham. Ishmael was born 14 years earlier. Isaac was the only offspring of Abraham to whom the promised “seed, which is Christ” (Galatians 3:16) was to one day be born, 42 generations later. Matthew 1:1-17.
Q. When was Isaac “begotten” according to Scripture?
A. “ Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;” (Mt 1:2 AV)
Note: Isaac was begotten when he was conceived in Sarah’s womb and born to Abraham.
Q. When was Jesus “begotten” according to scripture (not private interpretation)?
“ And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.” (Mt 1:16 AV)
“ And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,” (Lu 3:23 AV)
“ Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.” (Mt 1:18 AV)
“ And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” (Mt 1:21 AV)
Note: Mary shall “bring forth a son,” who was “Emmanuel” God with us. Jesus was begotten or conceived in the womb of Mary “by the Holy Ghost.” Jesus was over the age of 30 when He spoke John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Please notice Christ was GIVEN just over 30 years before this statement was spoken when he was conceived (or begotten) in Mary’s virgin womb. I hope my Aryan thinking friends understand that last sentence. John 3:16 is speaking in the PAST TENSE of an event that happened just 30 years before. Let’s notice again the words, “Shall bring forth” as found in verse 21.
“ Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” (Mt 1:23 AV)
Q. Does the term “begotten” have any other meaning in connection to Christ?
A. “ I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.” (Ps 2:7 AV)
“ For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?” (Heb 1:5 AV)
Q. What EXACT DAY in history is this event referring to of which the Father says, “Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? (Heb 1:5 AV)”
A. “33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. 34 And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.” (Ac 13:33-34 AV)
The prophecy of Psalms 2:7 according to the inspired interpretation of Scripture is referring to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. There are only two scriptural events in which Christ was “begotten.” Once in Mary’s virgin womb just as Abraham begat Isaac and Isaac begat Jacob and so on. The second time He was “begotten” was from the tomb.
Through Mary’s sinful flesh Christ took on him the nature of Abraham and His offspring, and was thus the “son of man.” He was not the child of Joseph. He was the Son of God. The Holy Spirit immaculately conceived Christ in Mary’s virgin womb, yet He was King of all Heaven. Thus by the Holy Ghost in the virgin Mary’s womb Jesus was born (begotten) as the Son of God. Through Mary’s sinful flesh Jesus was born the son of man. Through the Holy Ghost He was the Son of God.
Q. What did this term Son of God mean in the mind of the Jews?
A. “ Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.” (Joh 5:18 AV)
“ Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:” (Php 2:6 AV)
In the resurrection men that are saved are equal to angels. “ Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.” (Lu 20:36 AV) Jesus was not equal to the angels He was equal to God.
“He was equal with God, infinite and omnipotent. . . . He is the eternal, self-existent Son.”--Manuscript 101, 1897.
“4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. 5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? 6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. 7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. 8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.” (Heb 1:4-8 AV).
The above verse said, “let all the angels of God worship him.” This would be blaspheme if Christ was not YHVH (Jehovah). “ Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” (Mt 4:10 AV) The Father told all the angels to worship Christ because He was equal to Himself and was, “the Lord thy God” who only was to be worshipped.
It is not permitted to worship angels “ Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,” (Col 2:18 AV).
“ And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” (Re 19:10 AV)
“8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. 9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.” (Re 22:8-9 AV)
It is not permitted to worship the likeness of anything God has created. The second commandment forbids this. The Bible condemns in clear language those who, “ Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.” (Ro 1:25 AV)
For any creature to claim the right to be worshipped is blaspheme. In fact the Jews falsely accused Jesus of this. “ The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.” (Joh 10:33 AV) Notice these scriptures that show Jesus was worshipped.
Mt 2:11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
Mt 8:2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
Mt 9:18 While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
Mt 14:33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
Mt 15:25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
Mt 28:9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
Mt 28:17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
Mr 5:6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,
Lu 24:52 And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:
Joh 9:38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.
Re 5:14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.
“ Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” (Mt 4:10 AV)
The first commandment says,
"Thou shalt have no other gods before Me."
“Jehovah, the eternal, self-existent, uncreated One, Himself the Source and Sustainer of all, is alone entitled to supreme reverence and worship. Man is forbidden to give to any other object the first place in his affections or his service. Whatever we cherish that tends to lessen our love for God or to interfere with the service due Him, of that do we make a god.” Patriarch’s and Prophets p. 305
If Jesus were not “the eternal, self-existent Son”—(Manuscript 101, 1897), and If Jesus was not “Jehovah, the eternal, self-existent, uncreated One,” it would be blasphemy to worship Jesus just as much as it is blaspheme to worship any other man. “Jehovah, the eternal, self-existent, uncreated One, Himself the Source and Sustainer of all, is alone entitled to supreme reverence and worship.”
“The Lord Jesus Christ, the divine Son of God, existed from eternity, a distinct person, yet one with the Father. He was the surpassing glory of heaven. He was the commander of the heavenly intelligences, and the adoring homage of the angels was received by him as his right. This was no robbery of God.”--The Review and Herald, April 5, 1906, p. 8.
There are three claims of the Bible which Lucifer hates more than all others.
!. The Bible claims that the Son of God has legitimate right to be worshipped.
2. The Bible claims the Son of God is our Creator.
3. The Bible claims that the Son of God possesses authority as King of the Universe to give the Law.
1. Only Almighty God should be worshipped.
2. Only Almighty God is our Creator.
3. Only Almighty God is the Lawgiver of the universe. “There is one lawgiver.” James 2:12. “ For the LORD (Jehovah) is our judge, the LORD (Jehovah) is our lawgiver, the LORD (Jehovah) is our king (Jesus is our King, Rev 19:16; John 1:49); he will save us (Jesus will save us from our sins ( Matthew 1:21).” (Isa 33:22 AV)
Lucifer envied the Son of God for receiving the worship of angels, and said in his heart, “I will exalt my throne above the stars (angels; see Rev 1:20) of God” Isaiah 14:13. In this Lucifer coveted the right to be worshipped. That throne he sought to exalt was a symbol of authority. He wants to exalt his laws above God’s Law. Lucifer cannot create, he can only clone or amalgamate and mutate. Lucifer seeks to deceive men into losing sight of the Son of God’s rightful position of Authority as our Lawgiver and Creator. He hated most bitterly above all of God’s commandments the Law that says to rest the 7th day to honor the day the Son of God rested at creation and commanded at Sinai.
The Arian believer is actually breaking the 1rst commandment if he worships the Jesus he believes in. The Jesus of the Aryan believer is NOT self-Existent and Eternal. The Aryan believer denies that Christ is “Jehovah, the eternal, self-existent, uncreated One” who “alone (is) entitled to supreme reverence and worship.” Patriarch’s and Prophets p. 305. The Aryan believer denies that “In Christ is life, original, unborrowed, underived.” Desire of Ages p.530.
Lucifer seeks his greatest attacks against Christ today through 1. Evolution denying the Son of God’s work of creation. 2.Furthermore attacking the Son of God’s sign of Creation 3.as well as His authority by supplanting His Holy Sabbath with a spurious day. Through Arianism Satan overthrows the Son of God’s legitimate right to be worshipped. Thus when the Arian believer worships a Jesus they believe is NOT self-Existent and Eternal they are unknowingly in fact breaking the first commandment. It is unlawful to worship ANY being other than Jehovah God!
This becomes more serious when we recognize that it was Christ who gave the Ten Commandments. He is the LORD mentioned in the first four of the Ten Commandments.
“Christ was not only the leader of the Hebrews in the wilderness--the Angel in whom was the name of Jehovah, and who, veiled in the cloudy pillar, went before the host--but it was He who gave the law to Israel. Amid the awful glory of Sinai, Christ declared in the hearing of all the people the ten precepts of His Father's law. It was He who gave to Moses the law engraved upon the tables of stone.” Patriarchs and Prophets p. 366.
Jesus is “the Angel in whom was the name of Jehovah,” He is the One who gave the Ten Commandments. The Aryan believers who also accept the writings of E G White cannot solve such a dilemma in his mind? The Aryan believer denies that Jesus is Jehovah, which means “self-Existent, Eternal.” Yet E. G. White wrote that the Son of God spoke and gave the Ten Commandments. I ask my Aryan friends if Jesus is not Jehovah on what basis did He say "Thou shalt have no other gods before Me?" Also to the Arian I ask on what basis do you worship and serve Jesus? The second commandment forbids to serve and worship the likeness of any thing created. Jesus Himself said to ONLY worship and serve the Lord thy God. I sincerely want every Arian to write me a reply to this question, as well as to this entire article. Please take note that I already have the articles by Lynnford Beachy called “How many God’s are there?” so please do not send me this or other articles similar to it. PLEASE I repeat I want answers to the specific points raised in THIS article.
Now lets look at the Bible’s claim of the Son of God being our Creator. The Jehovah’s Witnesses who are also Arian in their belief of Christ and teach that Jesus was the Word who “was a god” John 1:1 (New World Translation of the bible.) The Jehovah’s Witness’s cult worship another Jesus. They accept the scriptures, which teach that Jesus was the Creator. However they interpret this as Jesus being a created angel who was with Jehovah HELPING Jehovah as Jehovah created the heavens and the earth. Arians also accept the scriptures that teach Jesus is the creator with a belief that Jesus HELPED Jehovah create the world. What does the Bible teach about this?
“ Thus saith the LORD (Jehovah), thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD (Jehovah) that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens ALONE; that spreadeth abroad the earth BY MYSELF;” (Isa 44:24 AV)
No one HELPED Jehovah make the heavens and earth, JEHOVAH claims He did it ALONE, BY MYSELF!!! The New Testament is clear that Jesus created all things. Jesus is “Jehovah, the eternal, self-existent, uncreated One.”(PP 305) “He is the eternal, self-existent Son.”--Manuscript 101, 1897.
“1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” (Joh 1:1-3 AV)
“13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” (Col 1:13-17 AV)
“ Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD (Jehovah), the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.” (Isa 40:28 AV)
“The world was made by him, "and without him was not anything made that was made." If Christ made all things, he existed before all things. The words spoken in regard to this are so decisive that no one need be left in doubt. Christ was God essentially, and in the highest sense. He was with God from all eternity, God over all, blessed forevermore. . . . There are light and glory in the truth that Christ was one with the Father before the foundation of the world was laid. This is the light shining in a dark place, making it resplendent with divine, original glory. This truth, infinitely mysterious in itself, explains other mysterious and otherwise unexplainable truths, while it is enshrined in light, unapproachable and incomprehensible.” --The Review and Herald, April 5, 1906, p. 8.
THE GLORY OF JEHOVAH
“ I am the LORD (Jehovah): that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.” (Isa 42:8 AV)
“4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.” (Joh 17:4-5 AV)
“All the communion between heaven and the fallen race has been through Christ. It was the Son of God that gave to our first parents the promise of redemption. It was He who revealed Himself to the patriarchs. Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses understood the gospel. They looked for salvation through man's Substitute and Surety. These holy men of old held communion with the Saviour who was to come to our world in human flesh; and some of them talked with Christ and heavenly angels face to face.” Patriarch’s and Prophets p. 366.
I AM
Joh 13:13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
Jesus is the Jehovah of ALL the Bible. He is the LORD Jehovah that walked in the cool of the day in Eden. Jesus was the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Jesus was Jehovah God who gave the Ten Commandments. Jesus was Jehovah God who was in the pillar of fire by night and cloud by day. Jesus was Jehovah God who appeared to Moses in the fiery bush and declared I am that I am. Jesus was Jehovah that said to Moses no man can see my face and live, “He did not think that this babe was He whose glory Moses had asked to see.” Desire of Ages p.52.
With solemn dignity Jesus answered, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM. Silence fell upon the vast assembly. The name of God, given to Moses to express the idea of the eternal presence, had been claimed as His own by this Galilean Rabbi. He had announced Himself to be the self-existent One, He who had been promised to Israel, "whose goings forth have been from of old, from the days of eternity." Micah 5:2, margin. {DA 469.5}
“The message was now given them from Jehovah: "Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. Beware of Him, and obey His voice, provoke Him not; for He will not pardon your transgressions: for My name is in Him. But if thou shalt indeed obey His voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries." During all the wanderings of Israel, Christ, in the pillar of cloud and of fire, was their Leader.” Patriarchs and Prophets p. 311.
“The Shekinah had departed from the sanctuary, but in the Child of Bethlehem was veiled the glory before which angels bow. This unconscious babe was the promised seed, to whom the first altar at the gate of Eden pointed. This was Shiloh, the peace giver. It was He who declared Himself to Moses as the I AM. It was He who in the pillar of cloud and of fire had been the guide of Israel.” Desire of Ages p. 52.
Lets look at this story of Moses and the Burning Bush.
“14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. 15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.” (Ex 3:14-15 AV)
“The name of God, given to Moses to express the idea of the eternal presence, had been claimed as His own by this Galilean Rabbi. He had announced Himself to be the self-existent One.” Desire of Ages p. 469.
THE FIRST AND THE LAST
Re 1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
Re 1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
Re 2:8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
Re 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
THE KING OF ISRAEL
Isa 44:6 Thus saith the LORD (Jehovah) the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD (Jehovah) of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
Joh 1:49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.
Joh 12:13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL
Mr 1:24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.
Ac 2:27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Ac 3:14 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;
Matthew 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God:
Psalms 111:9 “holy and reverend is His name.”
“According to the teaching of the Scriptures, it dishonors God to address ministers as "Reverend." No mortal has any right to attach this to his own name or to the name of any other human being. It belongs only to God, to distinguish Him from every other being. Those who lay claim to this title take to themselves God's holy honor. They have no right to the stolen word, whatever their position may be. "Holy and reverend is His name." We dishonor God when we use this word where it does not belong.”--Youth's Instructor, July 7, 1898.
Savior
“ I, even I, am the LORD (Jehovah); and beside me there is no saviour.” (Isa 43:11 AV)
“ Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD (Jehovah)? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.” (Isa 45:21 AV)
“ Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.” (Ho 13:4 AV)
“ Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;” (1Ti 1:1 AV)
“ But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” (2Pe 3:18 AV)
“ For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:” (Php 3:20 AV)
“ I, even I, am the LORD (Jehovah); and beside me there is no saviour.” (Isa 43:11 AV)
Friends either Jesus is truly Jehovah or He is no Saviour and our faith be in vain.

With solemn dignity Jesus answered, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM. Silence fell upon the vast assembly. The name of God, given to Moses to express the idea of the eternal presence, had been claimed as His own by this Galilean Rabbi. He had announced Himself to be the self-existent One, He who had been promised to Israel, "whose goings forth have been from of old, from the days of eternity." Micah 5:2, margin. {DA 469.5}
Re 2:8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
Ac 3:14 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;
Matthew 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God:
