Glory to God. Do you have any recommendations for some of these things in English:

I was looking for the Akathist to the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in English... I don't even know if the Akathists are universal or various national churches use their own... Is there a source, a put together collection for other usual Akathists like to the Theotokos, Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit, Holy Cross and various saints? Most particularly Arch. Michael and Gabriel, John the Baptizer and St. Stelianos (sp?). Something like this, but in English: Acatiste (crestinortodox.ro)

What about some of the more common Canons (to Guardian Angel, repentance to Jesus Christ, etc.)?

And which English Psalter does everyone use?

And which English Psalter does everyone use?

Only answering because another Orthodox person is the one who told me about it: A Psalter for Prayer Pocket Edition (the so-called paperback edition is the pocket one, for the cover is definitely not paperback). It's a small book so you can take it with you, the binding looks like leather (but I don't think it is), is blue, beautiful, and gilded. Uses the Coverdale Psalms corrected to the LXX, and has rites for the dead in it also. It's published by Holy Trinity Monastery so has all the liturgical stuff in it also concerning Psalms and how they are used throughout the year and is divided accordingly with the kathismas and all. Example of the translation:

102:1-5
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me bless His holy Name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities, and healeth all thy diseases;
Who redeemeth thy life from corruption, and crowneth thee with mercy and compassion;
Who satisfieth thy desire with good things; thy youth shall be renewed like the eagle's.

The printing in it is beautiful also, the only gripe I have with it is in a couple of places there are no spaces between the words in a Psalm, but it is easy still to distinguish.

God bless.

I use the Psalter put out by Holy Transfiguration Monastery with the light blue cover. I know a lot of people don't care for the translation, but I think it's beautiful. Has instructions for reciting the Psalms throughout the year.

My Psalter is
The Psalter according to the Seventy .
Published for the Archdiocese of Canada , Orthodox Church of America.
ISBN 0-9688818-0-7

It contains everything you could ask for. My GodPapa and I have used it for years as our preferred source for Psalms in Liturgical Services.
