Well, as good a Chapter as any for my swan song. I was hoping to at least keep up with the Daily Bible Verse threads, but after careful consideration I may be shutting down almost entirely from the forums for awhile.

But this is an excellent verse. The "ancient paths" God was speaking of here included walking in the fear of the Lord and meditating upon His word continually. As He taught the Israelites from the beginning:

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (Joshua 1:8). Who is the man who fears the Lord? He will instruct him in the way he should choose. (Psalms 25:12).

Another of the ancient paths the Lord Himself walked in was a lifestyle of incessant prayer, and that we were to walk this path is clearly laid out not only in the New Testament but also in prophetic dreams the Spirit has been speaking the churches. So few take this path today that it is almost hidden from view, and not many seem to even be aware of its existence anymore. The vast majority now take the wide path that leads to superficial Christianity instead. But I suppose finding and choosing the true path is only possible for those who walk in the fear of God today. Most now do as they did back in Jeremiah's day, and reject the ancient paths in favor of those so readily available that lead only to comfort and convenience rather than true surrender to Christ.

Blessings to you both, and keep studying His word. It is the path to life for those that find it. Lord willing, I will see you both down the road.

In Christ Jesus,
Hidden In Him
