People are afraid to host the Oscars
because they might get “Cancelled” by Twitter.

He was "cancelled" because he refused to apologize. And where are you getting the idea that people are "afraid" to host the Oscars? Just because they haven't had a host doesn't mean nobody wants to host it. The year Kevin Hart was supposed to host ended up being extremely successful, and they decided to repeat it last year, and this year were probably driven by COVID concerns.

The year Kevin Hart got fired, the Oscars had a 12% percent increase in viewership then the year before. So yes, it was successful. The one after wasn't but there is no indication that it was because it was hostless. And you still haven't provided anything to support your claim that people are "afraid" to host the Oscars.

The Oscars have gone multiple years without hosts before. It's not unheard of. And they said in 2020 that they were intentionally going without a host because of how well it went the year before.

Humor doesn't have to be offensive, but that is also a different question to the how idea of if the Academy needs to "forgive" Kevin Hart. Which btw, they gave him a chance to apologize and he refused. That was why they fired him, because he joked about using violence on gay people and then refused to admit he was in the wrong.

I don't even waste my time watching the Oscars anymore. I saw on the news that the Oscars this year was an anti-police hate fest. Using the Oscars as a political platform to promote an agenda is a turn off. I'm not surprised the oscars ratings hit a record low.
