The movie plane visited Tampa a few years ago on one of its last flights. I took two grandsons to see it and learn about the history of those amazing machines. To keep the memory of the plane in their minds when we drive past the Tampa Executive Airport next to I75 I shout out to them "That's the airport where you were inside the Memphis Belle. The WWII B17 bomber."

Sadly WW2 is falling into oblivion in the minds of the latest generations I feel. All the lessons learned from it are likely to be repeated by those who have no clue.

Not many people left that fought in WWII now if one sneaked in there at 16 in 1945 that would equate to 75-76 years ago and if they were 18 that would make them 94 this year but if they were in it in '43 they would be 97 this year unless they were 16 when they got into the war.

Here in Florida the weather should be nice for outside activities this weekend. I think the northeast should be nice too, but then I saw the storms for Texas and snow in the West mountains! I am planning a day trip to some historical site in Florida.

We got severe weather chances here..... and an inch or two rain and maybe hail south of where I'm at.

Hope you have no damage. Since writing my earlier post, I think I will drive from Tampa to Wauchula, Florida and find a nearby state or county park I have not been to and then stop and get some pizza at a little place in Wauchula on my way back.

So far it is mild rain here but still about 4 hours before it is supposed to slow down some.
Pizza is my favorite food group.

Yeah pizza used to be my most wanted go out to eat meal. I would go to a pizza buffet place here Cici's and pig out. Now I am a lot older the pounds don't vanish like they used to.

I dunno what the state meal is here..... or even if they have one.

The official state meal of Oklahoma consists of fried okra, cornbread, barbecue pork, squash, biscuits, sausage and gravy, grits, corn, strawberries (state fruit), chicken fried steak, pecan pie, and black-eyed peas.

Rain is gone for now....

I haven't watched the Oscars so long I can't remember. Probably will end up woke or some sort of nonsense.
